I know the grieving is not over, but I am glad you are feeling better. Earth, Wind, and Fire are cool. Don't overlook their "All 'n' All" album if its available. Have a Merry Christmas.
Re: Work In Progress - FitoverForty
Thinking of you Lynne, this Christmas time. Merry Christmas.
Have your time of grief, then pick up the torch, and run a race your Dad will be proud of, it's your turn. You can do it girl, and it will get easier with time.....promise.

Thank you Edgar and Will. Merry Christmas to you too.
I will run again, always have, always will, it is who I am. I walked outside this morning and felt that cool, crisp air, and first thought was how I wished I had running shoes on. It was a perfect morning for it. Soon, very soon I will be back out there.

Re: Work In Progress - FitoverForty
No run today, but tried to do a interval bw workout:
30 sec. jjacks (30 reps) / 30 sec. windmills (10 reps-counting touching each toe as 1 rep)
1 minute burpees - 21 reps
[45 sec. rest]
1 minute squats - 38 reps
1 minute bicycle crunches - 47 reps (counting touching each knee as 1 rep)
[1 min. rest]
1 minute incline pushups - 40 reps
1 minute jump/switch leg lunges - 45 reps
[1 minute rest - thought I was going to die]
1 minute plank
that's it for this workout - geez I am pouring sweat. Feel like I haven't worked out in months - even tho it's only been a little over 2 weeks.

Yes, I liked it - no muss, no fuss, just set a 1 minute timer ( watch has preset timers - cool) and get after it. The burpees and the jump lunges were the hardest - I thought heart was going to burst out of chest! I had planned on doing step ups and rev. crunches, but will have to save them for the next time.
I want to do that workout every week and see how much I can improve on it.
Christmas Angel Bear ornament has a special place on the tree. I've had it for years and it has alot of sentimental value - as does most of ornaments.

O.....M......G! I am so sore today in glutes and hammies from that little workout yesterday.
That's pretty pathetic, how fast your muscles can lose their strength. Even back muscles & abs are sore, I guess from the pushups and/or the burpees?
Every time I have to sit down or get up i am like "ahhhhhggggg"
At least I know it wasn't a wasted workout, and I am beginning look forward to doing more, and running again.

Still sore but planning to run tomorrow and do some serious ab work.
Well, if there was ever a time to have some motivation to finally get the extra weight off and reach goal shape - I now have it.
This coming August or possibly Sept. husband and I are going to be renewing our vows.
Here are a few of the dresses I really like::

I am in love with the 1st dress! But I really like the fitted waist of the 2nd dress. I want to feel beautiful inside and out. I want, for once, to have that confidence in body that I haven't felt in a long time. Lets take a vote...who likes dress #1, or dress #2?
I basically want to knock his socks off...again - fifteen years after I did the 1st time.
Hopefully training for the marathon in April will give me a great jump start on getting to where I want to be. I need to lose at least 30 lbs.
So starting next month I will be in serious training. arm is better, so I hope to incorporate more weight lifting, longer runs, more HIIT - everything!

Tough choice Lynne. Both are pretty. I think the first dress appeals to me more the most. but if can try them on it will be easier to know.
You have plenty of time to get back into shape for renewal of your vows. (which is very romantic and sweet by the way.
Glad to hear you are going to start running again. I'm sure that is what you dad would want.
Do you want to do a run walk method for your marathon? or are you going to go nonstop running? I know you've mentioned to me before how you've used run/walking sometimes on some run's. I didn't really use it last year like i should have. But i would like to try the method on some 5k's or 10 k's this year. I know you could do either method. I was just wondering.

I absolutely love the first dress!! That would be choice - as a matter of fact, where did you find it? Does it come in other colors, like black? <--obviously I'm not thinking of renewal of vows in a black dress
Guess many of us have been sick or otherwise involved - limiting our workout time and of course eating all that holiday food. Let's focus on 2011 and healthy and fit living with the help of all our Shapefit friends!
Did I tell you I looooove that first dress?

The renewal ceremony will be at mom-in-laws house, outside on her deck (which overlooks a lake
). We were going to have it at the nearby beach, but hubby's 89 yr. old grandma's would not be able to navigate the sand, etc. But I want to have a "beachy" somewhat casual fun sexy dress.
I love the first dress because of it's flowy nature and the way it still accents the waist area, but flows away at the hips. I love the halter top look of the second one, but don't know how that would look on me, with arms.
How's this for a deal: The 1st dress is $115, the 2nd dress - $76.00 and I found one more that I like:

for $119.00. I like the 3rd one's sleeves, and it also has a fitted waist, but flows away at the hips.
I appreciate all of your input - it's kinda fun to think about it, and plan for it - it definitely gives me a goal to work towards!
(guys...you can chime in with your opinions too!

I found these dresses online at wedding gown wholesale. Yes, the first dress does come in black, in fact most of the ones I've looked at come in all different colors. the website has all different types of dresses, not just wedding gownsldematto wrote:I absolutely love the first dress!! Re: Work In Progress - FitoverForty
Well I have lots of time to decide. I took a vote at work and it was unanimous - dress #3!
I really need to get upper body and arms back in shape, so I can wear a sleeveless dress and be confident and happy about how arms look.
Todays workout:
30 minutes kickball with son in the front yard (he kicked butt as usual, but it was good exercise running around the bases and chasing the ball down)
then...
Treadmill run - 3.7 miles
.5 mile wu
Three 1 mile repeats
1st mile: 9:55
2nd mile: 9:40
3rd mile: 10:53
cooldown - .2 mile
last mile I just ran out of energy - mentally, started fading, but all in all I am feeling better, and stronger, and know that in time I will bring it all together again.
