Oatmeal with protein powder?

Post by cyrax_101 »

Need opinions, folks.
Since I am a guy who doesnt have much time, I thought of something. A quick meal that I can take with me when I go to college.
Oatmeal mixed with a scoop of protein powder. Is it fine? I mean, the oatmeal will be hot so will it have a bad impact on the protein in the protein powder?

It shouldn't be too detrimental to the powders integrity and as Carbs help to synthesise Protein, it would be a good thing anyway.

I suggest you make your protein a little thicker than you would normally if you are going to eat it later. Mix the powder in when you are ready to eat it. Otherwise it tends to make things really soupy... Also, you can add a 1/2 tsp. baking soda, smidge of salt, dash (or two) of cinnamon, 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract, and 1 egg white to 1/2 cup dry oats and one scoop of protein powder; mix together and drop onto a cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees until lighly browned. You only added egg white protein/calories and now you have something completely transportable and easy to nibble on the go! Oh, add raisins too if you need the carbs.
