Chest Problem

Post by smoundzou »

I'm working chest pretty hard but don't seem to be having much soreness the following days?

Here's what I'm doing, please critique

Flat Bench: 4X6-8
Incline 4X6-8
DB Fly Incline 4 X 6-8
DB Fly Decline 4 X 6-8

I only do this 1 X per week and all the sets are done to failure.. I'll usually start by doing a few warmups with light weight but I don't count them. Is it possile, I'm using shoulders and arms too much and not using the correct form? any advice greatly appreciated, thanks.

Overtraining sort of.

You're doing 16 sets on Chest. I think you're overdoing it, and could get better results doing 12 sets instead. I'd say you have two options.

1. Cut back to 3 exercises with 4 sets.

2, Keep the 4 exercises and cut back from 4 to 3 sets.

I would say option two looks the better bet.

your shoulders must be sore if doing sets of 6 for flyes, not a good thing to do...change it up...give away the isolation exercises too

I thought I might be overdoing it. thanks for the advice I'll be making the adjustments.. but is it possible that the shoulders and biceps are carrying most of the load and I'm not using chest properly?? Not even sure it that's possible?

Thanks.
