Creatine and Whey Protein?

Hi!

I've been reading a topic about the creatine and protein guide. Well I know that protein and creatine can be taken together but according to big boss man taing 10g of creatine will have a long term side effect. Well of us want to gain a healthy body thats why were working out so is creatine really such effects? :?: So I went google and searched for the answer and I read this article at: http://www.abcbodybuilding.com/creatine ... _facts.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. Now I'm at the stage of dilemma... :( Should I take Creatine or not I want to know the opinions of the pro about this? If not please explain why...

Well before reading any forum I was just thinking That I think I should take Whey Protein and Creatine at the same time to get both benefit of such supplement. But I dont want to take anything that would harm body?

In summary, What other supplement shall I take other than whey protein (if creatine will give side effects) to Maximize lean muscle building exercise? Or should I say I take whey protein alone? I dont want to spend money on something that I dont need and eventually kill me. :)

I'm 5'9", 166lbs, Asian. aim is Loose fat make it 7-9%, Gain lean muscle.

What does your diet and exercise program currently look like? Protein powder is fine but if you're diet and exercise regimen aren't spot on theres not sense in doing creatine? It works but its not magic. I wouldn't spend money on it if you're not already doing everything right with diet and exercise.

Just opinion. :mrgreen:

Well diet is...

Breakfast: Meat or veggies plus rice.

Lunch: Meat soup/vegetables/fish/fish soup plus rice

Dinner: Fish/Fish soup/vegetables Plus rice.

Well I am a Filipino so everything I eat will have to mix with rice during breakfast, lunch or dinner.

workout routine is Mon-Sat.

during T,Th,S I go to the gym to work out and spend almost 3 hours working out and drink whey protein (I used hardcore pro series by the way)
during MWF I worked out at house spending almost one and a half hour but mostly cardio and abs. Then I just drink water.

In between meals I eat potatoes or sometime Turon(sweetened banana inside of a lumpia wrapper) or sometimes it will become a meal. And Isee to it that I drink atleast 2.5 liters of water a day

I know It will take me time to buff up.

Is this diet good or what? if not can you please make a sample diet that I may follow or somehow do to properly nourish body and get the result I want.

Note: That article says a 5-10g a day maintenance and a loading phase of more than 10g, but it DOESN'T say, take 10g doses at once. Neither would I.

Just to be clear, 10g Creatine per day, could be 10g at once, but it shouldn't be, because that amount used for maintenance is okay, but you have to remember taking it at once, not in 2x 5g split doses, causes more exposure to the Kidneys at once, hence why I say 10g at once is not necessarily good for you.

Thank you sir for all of your help.

Well I just realized that I shall not take creatine as supplement. Instead I will stick to whey protein intake. I dont want to suffer any ailments. And it leads me to these conclusion, please correct me if I'm wrong.

There are three supplements that will pump your body.
1) Take Steroids,
2) Creatine
3) Whey Protein.

Let us assume that our muscle is like a balloon that has nothing in it...

If we take steroids its like we are putting air in our muscle. Yes it is faster to see the changes but come on. Its cheating... Think about what will happen to your body once your not working out anymore? besides its illegal. :!:

If creatine, we are putting water in it since we need to be hydrated and take at least more than 9 glasses of water a day to maintain our physique. Thats why if your a first time user of creatine you have to undergo loading for 5-7 days. And yes 10g of creatine is the limit of your body to take it. And why take creatine when your organs can make it for you? :?:

If Whey Protein, We are putting meat in it since our muscles are protein itself and taking whey protein than other type of post workout supplement is more effective but it will take more time for you to noticed the physical changes. So what atleast you developing lean muscle like you always wanted. And if you have a hard workout, you really need proteins for your muscle to repair itself... logical right?

Now there are so many whey protein out there. The best are whey protein isolates as it reacts faster and give you energy after any post work out. And choose a supplement that will deliver 25g of protein per serving and MAKE SURE TO READ DETAILS OF THE SUPPLEMENTS AS THERE ARE OTHER SUPPLEMENTS OUT THERE THAT CAN CAUSE YOU HARM(e.g. Muscletech hardcore pro series). What is ironic about it is I am taking that supplement for now. It works fine for me since I dont have any heart ailments.

Side effects of Whey protein.
Bloating (well its what I am experiencing of taking whey, not only for muscle tech)

At first I can not understand boss man why he dont like creatine as a supplement. Now I understand him. It is not just because of the side effect of taking too much creatine that will lead you to kidney stones unlike if you take too much protein it will just be mixed with your urine.

Just to make things clear, boss man is not against creatine. You can take it if you want. and if I feel Boss Man right. He is not against it but surely he discourage first time users to use it because of the side effects.

Well I'm no pro... I just want the best for body. I hope I helped other people with this. Any points of discussion in this reply came from understanding and what I think. I thank boss man because I have second guess when I was about to buy creatine.

P.S. I recommend that if you take whey, just take whey. Dont add creatine in your diet although you can take Whey protein and creatine in your daily diet but I discourage it if you really want to have a lean muscle that compose of muscle not bloated muscle because of liquid or Air.

Creatine is already in the diet, as you get around 2g a day from Meat and Fish.

Yes I discourage Creatine in people with small weightlifting histories, as the power increases would work better for bigger people, I know I used it within first 18 months of training and got pissy results.

Steroids aren't supplements really, they're chemical in nature. Whey and Creatine are derived from nature.so to speak.

Sorry, but can you just quickly outline what creatine is supposed to do?

It seems to be widely advocated around the web. I assume it is supposed to be safe?

Creatine is safe as long as you don't over consume it and you drink enough water and Cycle off it at least every 3 months.

However as I stated earlier in this discussion, for people with short weightlifting histories, expect weak results.

A 150lb guy with 6 months lifting expreience, is almost certainly not going to get the same results, as a guy who's 190lbs and lifted for 4+ years.
