Warmed up with 50 Windmills and 30 Low Hurdle Step Overs, 10 , Front/Side/Back

Glute Kicbacks 2 x 10 x 2
Incline Flyes, 2 x 15 - 5 lb DB's
Post Delts, 2 x 15- 5 lb DB's
(having a brain freeze - holding DB's over head, bring down to ward back and back up again) 2 x 15
Lat Pulldowns, 2 x 10 - 70 lbs
Leg Extensions - 2 x 10 - 40 lbs.

Treadmill - 30 minutes - Fat Burning Program - Various inclines and speeds.

I like bike riding but not for exercise - it doesn't *feel* like exercise for me, but more like fun....guess I'm weird?!?!

I'm still loving the livestrong.com application, tracking all food and staying within daily calorie allotment. BUT I haven't lost any weight - grrrrrr!!! Yet!

Have a great day!

Hi lu! just keep at it, the weight will move eventually. You are doing great!

I remember you doing supine bridges a long time ago, that's where I got the idea to do them. Have you ever tried them doing a leg extension, holding for 30 secs. each leg? OMGosh! Really works the glutes!

You're no weird! Bike riding should be fun! The fact that also exercises the body is just a bonus!!

How is your summer winding down? Any tropical trips planned?

Actually I'm feeling a little down these days - I expected to be in much better shape by now?!?!?! Instead I'm samo, samo - but older! The combination is tough!

I'll get back on board - I'm still working out, and hopefully tweaking diet properly - we'll see! I know body is in better shape, I just don't weight less - grrrrr!

Thanks for checking in on me !

How do you know you're not?

Bearing in mind you can't see with the naked eye, the health of your Brain, Organs, Bones, Cholesterol levels and Blood. Only what is on the exterior, so until you have evidence some or all of those are only at average to above average states, assume you have good or better than good levles of health in those departments.

Never forget the bigger picture, because ultimately, quality of health is to some extent governed by visable Fat and muscle mass, but not entirely :).

You're doing brilliantly, so give yourself a bit of slack okay :). You started doing this much later in life than many other people and given your chronolgical age, not biological, it's understendable it's going to be harder to acheive results and maintain them, than someone 25+ years younger.

So don't be hard yourself misses okay. Be proud of your very consistent and heartening efforts. You're a good rolemodel and a good advert for how maturing Ladies can live.

Much positive to derive from all this I think :).

Its seems like the weight thing is taking for me too. But, we got to look at it as a marathon. I think Bossman has a good point about there being more that external aspects to health. :)

Bossman - you are absolutely right! I know on an intellectual level "whole" is in much better shape - just last month I had all blood work done for annual exam which will take place next month and all was normal, normal, normal - I don't take any meds, BP is great - I have much to be thankful for. But every once in awhile I get down at the fact I can't seem to shed the last 10-20 lbs - the thighs and tummy in particular! I get lots of praise about the improvement - but then I look at myself in the mirror while I work out and go ACK~!!!!! husband is amazed at how positive I have been knowing how hard I work at it, eating and exercising, without resulting in the desired weight loss. So, I do give myself some slack - I know I'm healthier - I just don't know what to do next! Also, and this is probably a big one - I'm not inspired to complete Personal Training Course, I think it's primarily due to not being in better shape (not being able to do some of the things) Maybe I set expectations too high in this area<sigh> Also, going from a very high powered demanding job to nothing I think has finally taken its toll on me - I kind of wonder what and who I am ?!?! Health and Fitness played a very important role in own validation during difficult times.

Anyway, I don't think expecting to lose some weight in a year is unreasonable - so I must be doing something wrong. I think everyone gets into a slump once in awhile - this one is mine - but I will not give up!!

I thank everyone here for incredible support over the past year and 1/2~!

I'm off today in the boat, will be doing lots of swimming and beach walking - love that kind of exercising. Have a great weekend!

I guess if you look at it that way I did lose about 1/2 lb per week over the months....but nothing in the last 13 months!

Once again though we really DO need to throw away the scale! This afternoon I weighed 2 lbs LESS than this morning!?!?! Go figure!

Hi,

I just want to make a suggestion based on the post you made to journal about looking for a running partner in your area. Have you thought of finding a running club close to you? I'm sure there must be one. I am now a member of CARA where I live and I am getting tons of support. As a bonus I am making new friends who live a healthy lifestyle. Along with this site it makes a healthy lifestyle easier and a pleasure to boot. :) :) 8)

Compelte the course. You'll regret it if you don't.

You can expect to lose weight, of course you can and it's understandable, so it isn't wrong to want what you want, as long as it's not setting the bar too high, because you'll end up creating a rod for your back, which you'll end up beating yourself with, when you standards are proving unable to be met.

Some people then, wouldn't question if they're aiming for too much progress, they'd question if they're giving enough, or doing something, or things wrong.

Plus you are as I said, you are having to work against nature and you did start later than many at this and also some of your body composition is going to be more muscle, which will reduce overall weight loss per week, as you lose some Fat but add some muscle too. So you can be really proud of yourself and I don't think you've anything to reproach or question yourself for, I really, really don't :).

You ARE doing superbly and I'm proud of what you've done, to persevere and achieve more.

Chin up misses and stay positive yeah :).

Hi ~! Thank you Boss - you always know what to say!

Lynne - I'm having a strange couple of months - it seems I go through lots of starts and stops?!? The most recent is walking - I figure if I push myself to walk (briskly of course) everyday I'll bring myself up to a minimum...BUT, I start out strong, did 4 miles one day, 3 the next...and even just 2 is ok, mostly I jog/walk - but then legs are in such a state that I take a couple days off.....I feel so strong, then I seem to collapse. Not completely but not according to plan......maybe I'm being too tough on myself. anyway - I know I'll get back on track somehow doing something most of the time. anyway, that's promise as of this moment - and trying to adhere to the calorie guidelines allotted to me through livestrong.com - I'm still using that and love it.

We've been spending lots of time at our place in Rhode Island, back and forth, 4 days there, 3 days here, or 3 days here, 4 there - depends on what's going on... so a regular routine is tough..all summertime activities, boating, beach etc. Like I said before I am almost looking forward to the end of summer. I can't believe I'm even saying that! LOL

Today I rode a 7 person bike!!! Have you ever seen one??? Unbelievable and a great workout! The top is like a round picnic table (place for umbrella but we didn't have one today)that has slots to hold water bottles for each person(or beer later on), everyone sits around and pedals. some face backwards! One person steers (and brakes) - what a GREAT contraption!!

Hope all is well with you!
