Abs after C section
Hi, I am a mother of two I have had C-scetion with both. frist child was to big to pass through and second child, well with her I had a kidney stone. There was a tube place in and they were fearful of me hurtting kidney by pushing so she was C-scetion. Now I know I can never have abs that I once had but there has got to be hope for at least a bikiny next summer. On Sept 24 2009 I started a class of yoga once a week for two hrs for college. I knew once a week was not going to make a differenc, so I started doing it at home and walking... now it is almost a 10 months later and I have went from 185 lbs to 144 lbs. I am excited about that cuase I have not seen that sence first child was born. Long ago I was a size 5.
Now after part of story is there anyone that has had a C-scetion and had success with exercises that target the stomach area after baby? If so please let me know. Here is what I do now. I jog 3 miles a day at a shool park that I have access too. There are some cross bars there that I get on and bring legs up to stomach I do 10 reps after each mile. I have just started that but would love to know what else I could do or if this is good just continue to do it and then maybe after a few more months of it then I will see a flater stomach. Please anything or ideas will help.

Re: Abs after C section
Flatter stomach is achieved by what you eat & perhaps to some degree the cardio you do to burn off the fat. Please list a daily example of what you eat

Re: Abs after C section
I was always under the assumption I would never have a flat stomach after a c-section as well. I was told by just about every woman who had a baby (c-section or not) that I wouldn't. I don't know if it's true or not. I'm on the long road to finding out!

Re: Abs after C section
I had two c- sections ..approximately two years after second son, I was back in a bikini with a flat stomach, think it is dependent on how much they cut & or how much the muscles are stretched during pregnancy ? Having said that, not sure if muscles even stretch during pregnancy. Also how low your body fat % is.Boss man a little help please

Ooooooh! That just perked me up! daughter was very tiny...premi-size (but full term) so they didn't have to cut me too much and tummy didn't stretch much during pregnancy (I was so small near the end people really couln't tell I was pregnant unless I told them, and I had gained about 25 pounds!)
Re: Abs after C section
Thats fabulous, so I see no reason really why it can't be as it once was, or damn close.Avoid excessive crunch or ab work, it will make your abs stick out, try a well disciplined diet to lose any remaining fat, weight routine & planks, leg drops.
Re: Abs after C section
Muscle shouldn't stretch during pregnancy I don't think. Unless you could cause microtears, but then you'd expect a muscle building type effect, when the tears repaired themselves, unless somehow they permanently stayed the way they were, until some days after giving birth.
If there was some muscle removed during the C-section, it's likely it would affect the bodies potential, to have a typical 6-pac type situation, but I can't see how you couldn't get a flat Stomach after a C-section, unless somehow the persons body suddenly changed, in a way where a lot more fat stored there, or it was almost impossible to burn Fat off the Abs.
After all Fat storage is controlled largely by diet and Hormones like Cortisol. A C-section would change how your body produces Hormones, unless they cut through a Hormone producing gland or caused damage or change to the Endocrine system.
So I'd just go with the flow and see if it can happen. It should be perfectly possible in mind.

Re: Abs after C section
I don't think they remove anything, but I really don't know what they cut. six pack is still intact.
Re: Abs after C section
They only removed the baby. lol
Re: Abs after C section
Hahaha yeah indeed
Nice one.

Re: Abs after C section
As long as they don't leave behind things like stitching needles, surgical tape, cotton wool etc etc. You occasionally hear of things like that, being left in patients after stitching up

Re: Abs after C section
Don't be scared to have another baby
. What I said has occurs in relation to lots of different surgeries, which could include appendectomies, blood clot removal, heart bypass patients etc etc and it is not a commonplace thing, it's an occasional thing world-wide, so don't worry about it.
It's a 99.9999% certainty, if you had another C-section it wouldn't happen
.
Such types of surgical negligence are very rare from understanding, os if you ever want more children, go ahead, because I'm sure you're a wonderful Mother and nothing should stop you trying to bring up children, who can help make the world a better place

Re: Abs after C section
I know.
It's was meant to be taken as a joke. Guess I should've added an "lol" at the end of it.
No worries, but thank you for being concerned about what I could've been worried about.
