Is there a weight limit? I am estimating I will be just under 220 by the time I go on the trip.

I know where I jumped the weight limit was 250 - I don't know if that varies from state to state, but I would think you would be just fine :D

I did a 2 mile run this morning. I finally managed to do a negative split. It was not an impressive negative split and I had to struggle to do it, but it was a negative split nonetheless. I am being to think it is the mental aspect of running that is the hardest to overcome. If I had to do the 5K tomorrow I think I could come in under 40 minutes. I have 3 1/2 weeks to go, so I think I still have an outside chance to beat 38 minutes.

Today I weighed in at 239, so I have the 230's. 220s here I come. Since 5k race is now less than 3 weeks away, I ran 5k for morning run. I ran at an easy pace except for perhaps the last 50 meters. I think I can easily come in under 40 minutes for the race, but coming in under goal of 38 minutes may be wishful thinking. I am going to try best anyhow.

There is no sense in me continuing to complain about the heat. It looks like its going to be here awhile so I might as well accept it an get used to it. I am carrying water with me on the runs to I should be okay.

day started started out badly, but turned out nicely in the end. A half mile into run where an automobile entrance crossed the running path I encountered an @%#@$# in a SUV. I was already in the pedestrian marking when his stopped at the stop sign. When I was about 1 meter from crossing his front bumper he stomped on his gas pedal and it took everything I had not to run into the side of the SUV as he shot across me. His passenger window was open and I yelled something I can can not repeat here. I was so mad I began chasing him yelling and trying to get him to stop. I am probably lucky he didn't stop because I am a bit too over the hill now to do any fighting. The adrenaline rush did help me on run. I was so mad I never thought about being tired. I did one minute intervals of pushing pace during the second mile. I am now thinking again I have a shot of coming in under 38 minutes when I run 5k on the 7th.

After run I did something different and walked inland into Lincoln Park. I have lived in Chicago all life and I never knew there were so many cool paths in that park. I have already decided when I start pushing distances I am going explore these pathways. I ended up in the end walking over to the Lincoln Park Zoo and walked around there for about an hour before going home. All in All its been a good day and its only a bit after noon now. :)

Wow! what a jerk! Some drivers can be SO rude thinking that we don't have any business crossing streets, even if it is a crosswalk. I will sometimes try to make eye contact with a driver to make sure he sees me, or if he is on his cellphone (definitely WON'T see me) but regardless if you were already in the crosswalk, he should have waited - it would have took, what, all of 10 seconds for you to cross? Alot of times especially at a stoplight, I will deliberately go behind their vehicle, so there is no chance of them hitting me.
I'm sorry that happened to you, but I am glad you had a little more "fuel" to do your intervals with.
btw....I would have loved to see you chasing them down the street! Probably scared the crap out of them! LOL!

sounds like you had a good day, overall. Glad you found some new paths to explore. :D

There's a road near to where I live. Some People think it's clever to signal left about 2 seconds before they do it. Sometimes you have to run backwards when you're halfway across. sometimes you need to run forwards. One time I nearly get a wing mirror in left hip. Missed me by about 6-12 inches.

Amazing what sort of basic stuff people actually forget after some years of driving. I mean I could understnad forgetting the protocol with certain signs or features, that aren't where you live, that you encounter somewhere else now and again, but forgetting basic protocol regards turning left, or right for that matter.

Sometimes it drives me up the wall.

Oh and don't get me started on drivers that can't understand a box junction
