Weak core?

In recent dissppointing results, I found that I have a very weak core and actually abs are more pushed out rather than in, which is actually somewhat causing me improper technique in some of exercises, especially in a flat bench, as back is always slightly arched up.

unlike most people, i am actually NOT doing a lot of ab exercises or serious ab exercises. maybe once a week between sets.

Can someone tell me how to core problem with a bunch of exercises that help get me a better core in addition to how long and how many sets i need to do? Generally speaking when I touch abs they're hard, but they're hard "out" not hard "in"...and i know hard abs is not = to flat stomach. I just want to tighten abs "in" instead of out...

And yup I know the plank does wonders, but how many sets/mins do I need to do? I often can do 1 mintue.

gym doesnt offer pilates classes..i do an ab blaster class when I feel good or have the energy. I just dont know how to train abs honestly...I know there are a lot of exercises...but i do them randomly..i am not surw how abs should be trained a muscle...=S

isnt abs everyday no recommended cuz they are like any other muscle that need 24-48h to rebuild themselves?

Thanks. This is helpful. I don't often focus or think about the way I do muscls, I just do things like the bike thing, planks once or twice a week, leg raises...but its good to know i need to touch abs in all different areas (which i am not aware of!)...should i keep doing them until they "burn" in terms of reps?

I know that having fat sort of makes the abs look bigger and out, but its also doesnt make stomach jiggle! Like sister, she's very thin in her pper body, and oculd easily have nice looking abs if she bothers to do something about, yet eve tho im bigger than her, body looks "toner/tighter."

One instructore said some ab workouts like crunchs pushed the mucle out and a plank does the does the opposite, like pulls it in.

Planks
Side Planks
Superman Holds
Vacuums
Scissors
Leg Raises
Ab Wheel Rollout

They all work well...

Pick like 3-5 of them and start out with 3 sets of 60 seconds each and then keep progressing to 5 sets of 120 seconds each. Should take A LONG time before you can do that.
