name is Heather and I just gave birth to first child two months ago. I found out last week that husband is diabetic and finally have an excuse to diet! However, it's extremely hard for me and I also don't want to cut calories too much because I am breastfeeding. I want to lose the weight I gained during pregnancy without depriving darling daughter. Dieting is also very hard for me because I am completely ADDICTED to food. I love it! So, I absolutely need help staying motivated from people who are going through the same thing

Thanks for any thoughts or advice.
At this point I wouldn't worry about going on a "diet" but as JillB suggested instead just look at cleaning up your diet. Don't deprive yourself, just make healthier choices. You can start by cleaning ALL the crap out of your house... Cookies, candy, chips, pastries, sugary cereals, white flours, frozen dinners, boxed dinners... all this should GO! Replace with whole grains, fruits, veggies, nuts, lean meats, eggs, low fat dairy, and legumes. This should be done both for your husband and daughter and for yourself. Its not fair for your husband to have to be surrounded by those foods since and I'm assuming you want to raise your daughter in a healthy environment so that she can grow up knowing what it means to eat healthy.
As for you being addicted to food... thats perfectly fine. Its simply a matter of choosing clean healthy foods instead of sugary, fried, or processed foods.
Also, what are you currently doing for exercise?
