Needing to lose weight

Post by pljordan85 »

Hello,
I am trying to lose weight. I have been going up and down with weight for years. I recently separated from the military and found out I was pregnant. Let's just say, I went through some troublesome times and gained 80 lbs during pregnancy, I was at 230lbs. Horrible! At daughter's first birthday, I still weighed 180 lbs, and since then I've lost another 10 lbs--a period of about 4 months. I seriously need to lose the rest of the weight. I'm not so much concerned with actual weight as I am with the way body looks. I am so motivated and dedicated to working out. I spend nearly all time working out. I happen to have a home gym, and I'm a stay at home mom, and I attend school online, so I have lots of time to devote to workout.

For a little over a month now, I've stopped eating any and all junk foods. I switched to whole grain products only, soy milk, no cheese, and I only eat turkey and chicken (rarely though). I don't drink anything but water and occasionally Gatorade. After a miscarriage a month ago, I got back into workout and I've been running every day since--20 days to be exact. I literally run every day, hard on treadmill for 20 minutes straight without stopping. Some days I even do strength training along with the running.

Despite efforts to resist looking in the mirror and checking weight to monitor progress, I cant help but sneak onto the scale. ITS NOT MOVING!! I am wondering, is this because I am building muscle too, or am I exercising too much (is that even possible)? I heard that it takes a considerable amount of time to build muscle, so I tend to doubt that this is the reason I am plateauing. The odd thing is that when I look in the mirror, I see changes. stomach, or lack thereof, is damn near flat. Also, I've lost an inch on thighs, arms are more toned, and I even lost a half an inch on neck. Also I can see a change in breasts, they're fuller and perkier, maybe because of the bench presses and push ups?

Anyway, I need some help with this. Am I eating wrong, not eating enough? Oh by the way, I really dont eat much in a day, I've been tracking calorie count, and OMG I really need to eat more. I have a hard time finding healthy meals to make out of what I like, so I tend to eat primarily salads and Michelina's lean gourmet frozen foods. In the morning I eat egg whites, and occasionally turkey bacon with it, and I snack on fruits and veggies all day. Mostly fruits though, but I do eat a lot of veggies.

So yeah, please give me some advice on what to eat, and ease tensions about eating too much or the wrong things, and also workout routine. Thanks

Fat loss and muscle gain, it almost looks for sure like that's it.

So just keep doing what you're doing, stagnating on weight loss isn't always a bad thing, if the muscle to Fat ratio actually improves, which from what I read above, it looks almost certainly as if that's what you're getting.

Be proud and kepe remembering that because of your efforts, your child will have a strong, healthy, positive rolemodel to look up to. If you can be that caring towards yourself, there's no question you'll do the same for your child :).

Thye are lucky to have a Mother like you, I can feel it.

I also want to lose weight too! I have hormonal imbalance too, so I have been limiting diet to fish, organic fruits and vegetables, whole grain foods and raw food as this site-- http://www.testosterone-for-men.com/Hor ... alance.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; advised. As of now, there is no way I could visit the gym because I work from Monday to Saturdays and Im too tired during Sundays. What else can I do?
