One leg squat

Post by Matt1 »

Hi people,

I've heard a lot about how one leg squats are a good exercise and I know how to do them with good form (in theory). However I have been doing them recently and have found that main problem with them is not strength but balance. If I was to hang onto something while doing them (to steady myself, I dont mean something to lean on), e.g. a pole or bench would this be ok or would it stop the exercise beng effective? Anybody know whether it makes a difference.

Cheers

r u trying to do a Pistol which is a free standing SL Squat? if so than u can use a broomstick or something 4 balance but obviuosly don't rely on it 2 much...i wood as many as i cood without it then intorduce it or u won't learn to do them without it

maybe add in some SL Squats with the back leg elevated... clients do a lot of these and they're hard
