Lower back troubles

Post by theclownman »

When doing pushups/situps I feel a lot of weakness in lower back. It at times causes me to begin to shake.

Any suggestions on what strengthening exercises I can use to gain lower back strength?

Any suggestions on what strengthening exercises I can use to gain to reduce the amount of shaking in arms and gut?

Any good exercises for increasing strength endurance?

Back Extensions.

Deadlifts.

Possibly Good Mornings, and maybe Squatting too.

it's probably weak abs / core which outs more stress on low back so that's where you feel it...search prone ab braces and side prone ab braces and do as prescribed

The only worry I'd have about that is, if his Back is weak, then stronger Abs could compound the problem. I've been there, and it's not a good place to be.

What I would say to him is, try the Abs stuff, and if Back gets worse, stop, and go solely for Back stuff, until you aleviate most of the pain you feel, then get back on Abs, when Back is stronger and can tolerate more Abdominal weight.

But do Abs stuff and see what happens.

905 of the population have very tight lower backs from ab/core weaknesses...reinforcing it will only make the abs weaker relatively and low back sorer when core is required to do something

I know what you're saying, but when I trained Back and neglected Abs, I know how I felt, compared to after a few weeks, of stupidly swapping Back training for Abs training.

I felt pain with stronger Abs and a weaker Back, than I did with a Stronger back, poor Abs.

I can only go by what I've experienced, I can't tell him a definitive answer, just what I've experienced.
