Chest exercise

Post by justin_yh »

I'd like to ask about chest exercise.
I have done push ups, bench press, dumbbell press, flyes, dips.
But compared to the other exercise (ex: row for back, deadlift) I don't feel anything about chest muscle.
I mean, when I did rowing, I felt back muscle stressed/weary (or I dunno what the right word for it, stressed or something) at the day after.
By that condition, I can feel that back muscled has been exercised.

But when I do chest exercise, I only felt triceps muscle that has been exercised.

Are there anything wrong with exercise?

triceps muscles has been built well, but chest muscle still have low mass.
Please help.

Do you max out every once in awhile?

last routine is:
dumbbell flyes 2x12 (slow, about 3 sec/rep)
pushups 2x12 (slow, about 4 sec/rep)
dips until failure (slow, about 4 sec/rep)
+shoulder exercises

I have used the weight big enough.

Is that what you mean with max out every once in a while?

chest is weak compared to tri's which is very common (mine are too)...try 1 and half rep push ups where you lower to the ground, push up half way, lower back down than push all the way up again...can do with benches too

I see...let me guess, so the half push from lower to the ground will work the chest while the rest work for the triceps?

What if I did half push for every reps? Can it help me to focus on chest only?

mix it up with 1/2 reps and 1 1/2 reps for best results

bottom 3rd - chest
middle 3rd - front delts
top 3rd - tri's

Max as in you bench the most amount of weight you can, meaning you're only able to rep it once barely. Or if you got a spotter, you can do a weight like way heavier then what you can max. For example, I can max 185, but once in awhile, friend helps me spot 225, but of course he has to lift and carry it for me. This definitely will give your chest pain the next day.
