i'm sorry that i had to put this topic in this are but i couldnt find an area about nutrition...
so here is the quetion
how many calories do u think i need a day?
i'm
5'4 feet
140 pounds
16 years old

well, if it helps, i'm 17 (18 in may), 160 pounds and taking in about 1200-1300 to cut up
according to bmr, the calories i must consume to maintain stats is 1748 kcal per day..
so y dont u just get it calculated by a body compositon analysis or something, u learn alot about urself, and it makes it easier for u to set cgoals

By your description of your body type, I would say you are able to take in about 2500 calories a day. Now this all depends on what you are going for. if you are looking to bulk up and gain. then you are going to need to consume more calories that are based on protien and carbs.
on the other hand, If your goal is to lose some weight and you are lookin for that six pack. its all about the caloric deficit. subtract 500 calories from your daily recommended caloric intake. Doing this mixed with weight training and some good cardio sessions. would be a great start. If you have any questions feel free to ask.
