HELP PLEASE

Post by HOUSTON »

I am working out 6 days a week doing P90X. I feel this is last chance to lose weight. I am 38 yrs old, 160 pounds and 5'5". For 2 years now after having last child I have tried weight watchers, atkins, south beach, jenny craig and the good old starving myself and getting down to 900 calories a day with running 3-5 miles a day. I am very active chasing children around and work 65 hours a week as a physical therapist. I have a thyroid issue that I take levoxyl for and just visited endocrynologist to see if thyroid is causing me to not lose weight. medicine is woking and thyroid is at the correct levels at this time. Please give me some ideas of what I can do!!!!!!! As I said before I am currently doing P90X cardio along with some strength training and eating about 1700 calories a day. eating salads, nuts, fruits and grabbing some carbs and protien. weight moves from 5 lost this week to 5 gained back the next week. I am so upset I feel almost like I am getting depressed. How can soemeone work so hard and eat what is supposed to be right and not lose????

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Because you are chasing kids around, I am thinking you may be a girl. I am also doing p90x, chasing kids 5'6" and 167. Not really too bad a place to be, especially after you are done with p90x. You will lose fat, gain some muscle and lose inches so long as you stick with the program. I would rather lose inches than pounds anyday, so try not to be a slave to the scale. Maybe weight the same day of the month rather then weekly or daily becasue weight fluctuates, sometimes more than 5 pounds a day. When you get closer to your 'normal' weight, it gets harder to lose weight. When I was 240, I could drop 5 pounds in a week, now I am lucky if I see 2 or 3 pounds in a month. Slow and steady is the only way to get there.

With the thyroid problem losing weight will be hard. I recommend reading Is your Thyroid Making you Fat http://www.amazon.com/Thyroid-Making-Do ... 0446677108" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; It is a really good read with a diet program for people with thyroid issues. It may help you.
