Microwave Food -- Danger??

Post by shellies78 »

brother told me that it's bad to use the microwave to heat/cook food because it breaks down molecules and the end result is loss of protein and nutrients in foods. It also supposedly adds cancer causing carcinogens. As far as container, I usually use glass to heat up food or BPA free plastic.

Anyone know anything about the effects to nutritution if you microwave food and other effects on health? Thanks!

There is evidence to suggest such things. Microwaves have been touted as having the associated problems you suggest. If you're concerned, avoid using them.

You can buy things like aGeorge Foreman, a Steamer or things like a Pressure Cooker to help you cook. Even a portable barbecue or stove type device that folds away, would probably be okay for use indoors.
