What is the best way to tone

Post by Lindsipettit »

I normally do about 30-40 minutes of cardio each day and do weight lifting. I was told this doesn't help to tone.. So what can I do in order to tone? I mean I don't want to be some fugly body builder chic with huge muscles. Some definition would be great though! So is it okay to do weights? I'm only up to 40-60 lbs on certain machines right now.

Do weights definitely. You're not going to get huge unless you lifted heavily for years and eventually got on some Steroids and ate 4,000+ calories a day, with a high protein intake.

I'd suggest you do weights and Cardio over a 5 day period. Using a Total Body workout system with weights.

So something like this.

Day 1. Weights

Day 2. Cardio

Day 3. Weights

Day 4. Day off

Day 5. Cardio

Day 6. Weights

Day 7. Day off.

This stops you training for 5 days straight and stops the off days being back to back, which could possibly eat into progress.

Oh come on bodybuilder chicks with big muscle are hot! Its hard for ladies to look like that real hard.

As long as you dont eat to be huge you will never get huge so go and lift your off! A bit of muscle looks good.

tone isn't a word

tone is definition

definition = muscle mass (that doesn't mean bodybuilder size) minus body fat

so wts are a must
