Can plyometrics improve pushups?

Post by Tredo »

progress with pushups has been slow, but I was wondering if doing plyometric pushups would help improve regular pushups. I was thinking of doing plyometric pushups like so: Lowering myself and holding myself from the pushup position and exploding and pushing myself into the air.
Thanks in advance.

if you can't do many proper push ups then you'll struggle with plyo push ups...how many perfect push ups can yup do in a row (chest to floor, middle to stay in line with head and feet etc)??

Well, I don't do them with chest to the floor, but face is about centimetre away from the floor and body is straight. I can do about 80.

keep yuor chin up so your chest gets to the floor first...if you can do 80 why do you want to do more??? it won't make you stronger or bigger

I want to get to 100. It's a little goal I have for myself. :)
