The gym by new location has a swimming pool…
You are totally inspiring me to jump in and give it a try… beside summer is coming soon!
However, I don’t think I can hang like you tho. :P Keep it up!

cool! give it a go! When i started Nokie I couldn't swim the length of the pool even once without stopping (33m)!!
Got talking to a lovely gent today who asked me was I part of a swim club - he thought I was a very good swimmer! How nice was that? I was asking him about breast stroke as he had a lovely stroke so we got chatting and he helped me on the breast stroke technique.
anyway today was mega ..

ran/brisk walked 4km to gym
swam for 1.5kms (nearly made the mile but I needed a carb hit as I could feel energy waning - did lots of drills and sprints)
ate a carb energy bar then because the banana I brought went black and mushy in back pack yuck!!!lol
ran/brisk walked 4km home...

feel tired but very happy with myself.
tomorrow is an easy 90 minute cycle - will be a lovely recovery day to do a nice spin somewhere pretty. will plan route tonight.

onwards and upwards people!

Funny how that works. I really didn't want to go to the gym today, but it sure feels good after.

2 hour cycle this morning. going swimming with the fambly this afternoon. Want to see how son is actually doing in the pool before we tackle his swim teacher next week. They have him in arm bands and he can swim (when he's with me he can) and when he tells them he can swim they won't listen to him. Really frustrating for him and for me. I'm PAYING them. Unfortunately the swimming is with his school and there are over 60 kids in the water. The classes are way too big. We're paying twice the price of swim lessons we could get privately and have no choice as it's part of the school curriculum. I'm annoyed over the whole thing tbh, we could get him swim lessons in a class of 6 or 8 for half the price, it takes them 2/3 of every Friday to get to pool and back (I think they'd be better off working on the the R's rather than spending so much time on something that most of the kids do privately anyway), last week one little boy walked out to the car park on his own and only one of the other mother's found him he was just heading out!!! Only 3 teacher to supervise over 60 children is CLEARLY not enough. So because of all this I am going down on a Friday to help out (as are some of the other parents). Think I will be objecting to it next year. It's not needed, it's very expensive and I'm not happy with the supervision ratios.

on a happier note, did a good cycle, although I headed in to the city to Phoenix Park so mileage wasn't great as lots of stops and starts and taxis trying to kill me. Really need to join up with the tri club and go on cycles with a group - feels safer and their routes are out of the city so more cycling and less traffic lights!

off to get ready for swimming (won't be a workout, just playing with the kids - will feel great though after a very hilly cycle)
onwards and upwards folks!

It was never compulsary for me, except when I was in final year of primary and it was included free, but sometimes I'd forget trunks and have to be taken back to get them by Mum, DOH.

I'd object too, if there was a better alternative, but the one thing they could say was, they'd have no way to make it happen outside of school, so some people might elect to not do it in school and just not bother giving their kids any private swimming, out of school hours either.

Essentially their way of having some kind of get-out, to justify why they do what they do.

Yeah I know that it means that some kids who wouldn't have gotten the lessons otherwise get to avail of them, I Just think that bringing 60 - 6 year olds and tring to get them washed, dried and changed afterwards is a bit too much for anyone's plate. ah sure there's worse things in life could happen. I'll make objections known but carry on with it. I've been bringing son swimming the last while too so at least we're working on his swimming skills one to one. He LOVES it (like his mommy!).

in other news. today was a day off so there is no news lol!
i am down to 171lbs! lean muscle mass (according to scale, gives me fat%, water% and lean %) is GROWING and fat% is GOING DOWN!!! yay!!!!!
have been eating within calories but been having too many treats lately so from tomorrow on, will start eating better. mcdonald's chicken nuggets (it's all that was around and I was starving after a very busy morning), will NOT CUT IT!
onwards and upwards people!
