Hey guys, I've been laying low for a few days....having some back issues, probably pulled something or strained something doing kickbox workouts. It is not too serious and is better now, I plan to hit the road in the a.m. for a 5 or 6 mile run. Still can't do anything with arm - pain in the elbow area is sharp when I try to pull up on anything or lift anything. It is frustrating because it is right arm, (I'm right handed) and I use it all the time, so I feel the pain even doing the most normal day to day things.
Staying on track with the eating plan. :D
I walked past hubby tonight and he said "you're getting skinny!" :D :D  He got a big kiss for that!

I love it~! That's GREAT!!! Give your hubby big hugs from me ! {{{{{Lynne's Hubby}}}}}

I feel your pain with aching back and arm...it's so hard when your body betrays you like that...stay with it, but don't take any chances of hurting yourself further. As long as you are watching the food intake you should be just fine! :)

Thanks Sandi :D You have been a large part of helping me to bump up workouts and really pay attention to foods - by seeing the changes you have made and the results you have gotten. :D

I'm not, but it is SO hard and I feel like I'm losing all the muscle strength I worked so hard to build up :? I can't do any lat pulldowns, no tricep dips, no bench press, no chin ups (and I was just getting good at those!), no DB lat raises, so what's a girl to do for upper body? I can still do planks, but no ab wheel rollouts ( fav). :(
Anyway, on a brighter note:

Todays workout:

5.3 mile early a.m. outdoor run. Felt FANTASTIC! Had a couple days rest, so I was bursting with energy and felt like I was flying! At the first 3 miles I noticed I was ahead of last weeks 3 mile run time by over 90 seconds! And still had plenty of energy to go over 2 more miles. :D :D
Planning on doing a kickbox workout this evening, maybe take it easier on the back kicks - I think that is what caused the back issues. And i'll do the punches without the handweights - hopefully won't aggravate elbow.

Thanks Noosk! I don't think 145 is unrealistic for you - I started at 177 lbs. :) - it has taken me a long time, but I really feel now that I can see the light at the end of the tunnel and 145 is not just a dream anymore - in a few shorts weeks from now it will be reality!!

So, when you think about it...dreams are just goals we haven't said out loud yet.... :D

That's awesome!!! Keep up with the running!
Try doing side kicks instead of back... so you won't hurt yourself much.

Lynne - I wasn't able to do much in the upper weight training either due to injury but I'm back! Don't give up! We're all in this together with you at the head of the pack! We need you! :)

Thanks LaReina, I'm glad you like it. It just came to me yesterday - maybe I should make it into a bumper sticker, or put it on a t-shirt :D
I have some wall art in workout room that i put right underneath framed 1/2 marathon finishing photos that says "Dreams are a wish the heart makes" I look at it all the time when I'm on the "dreadmill" (stolen from brentyboy :D ) doing HIIT and feel like I want to quit - I read that and look at the photos and remember why I'm doing all this - the goal, the prize, the dream to finally be the best I can be physically - to look in the mirror and say "Yes!" I like what I see - to be able to run and race competitively, knowing I gave it absolute best - and enjoy all the benefits of good health - to be a good role model for son - to finally be "me" and have the body I'm supposed to have so that I am able to do the things I want to do - no more regrets, no more excuses, no more quitting - just living the dream and finally saying it OUT LOUD!! :D

Early a.m workout:
Kickbox workout (no pain in back - yay!)
did a few pushups - testing out the arm - no addl. pain, but not well yet. :x

Second workout will be running 4 mile trail/park run or HIIT on dreadmill - haven't decided yet.

Eating is still good - but need more calories :|

Hope everyone has a great day! :D

:D
2nd workout for the day:
Evening trail run - 5 miles
This was tough! It was a primitive trail, just dirt, leaves, roots, narrow and very hilly. I ran with some other runners in the area, and was able to hold own pretty well with them :D
Love trail running, even tho' it is really tough - I was breathing hard nearly the entire way, but I didn't want to get left behind, so I just kept pushing and hanging with them.
Now I gotta go find me some food...I'm starving!!!!

Totally agree - couldn't have said that better!

This twice a day stuff is rubbing off, I've been working out in the AM and jumping on the treadmill in the PM (again sometimes) It's works! Like you Lynne, I know thoughts will become reality and yes, in a few short weeks we'll both be where we want to be.

Have a great day!
