Wow....you "aint just-a-kiddin" I've got one whos 11, and yuh we get along gr8, I don't want that too change, but I know some bumps are ahead. I also try not to hold them back, and try to increase their responsibility, and not do everything for them, as they will have to stand on their own two feet soon. It flies by too fast. Of course we have three so, you can't just attend to one, as in your case with just one, it would be super easy to do it all for him.

When I was 11 dad used to say he wished he could deep freeze me, so that I would never ever grow up.

Thanks Joc, I take it day by day...and just try to do the best I can. It's not all sunshine and roses (as Brent would say
)and there are days when he tries patience to the very end...but he is a good kid and I'm proud of him.
Well, I had breakfast and lunch and calories for the day are at 940 and I've already had 55 g. fat (mostly mixed nuts and 2 tbsp. PB & and a can of tuna) so I can't have any more fat for the day - what can I eat for dinner!? Salad w/shrimp maybe?
I feel like i haven't eaten hardly anything, yet the fats are too high.
Frustrated I am.

I have that same problem when I eat peanut butter and almonds in the same day. I try to limit what I eat for peanut butter for that reason. It is hard, though, because that always was kind of comfort food when eating healthyfitoverforty wrote:Well, I had breakfast and lunch and calories for the day are at 940 and I've already had 55 g. fat (mostly mixed nuts and 2 tbsp. Yeah, it's about all I got left... one last little "treat", but I guess it is going to have to be limited or cut out, at least until I get a little farther down the road on this fat loss thing.feelin-great wrote:I try to limit what I eat for peanut butter for that reason. I just realized I made it through the whole weekend without any chocolate of any sort!!! Wow! (patting myself on the back)

Ok, I have a question about this peanut butter issue. What is the advantage to natural peanut butter, clearly it has more fat, than say kraft extra creamy with 7 g of fat..1 g of saturated fat only.Carbs at 4 g & sugar at 1 g, protein is 3 g per tblsp.
Re: Work In Progress - FitoverForty

I had this conversation at work today with a coworker. He said he was gonna try natural PB, but when he compared the nutrition facts to a non-natural they were just about the same, so he bought the other kind . We happened to have a tub of regular PB and PB in the kitchen, so I got both jars and showed him that although the nutr. facts may seem similar the ingredients are where you see the difference. Mine says "peanuts, contains 1% or less salt" that's it, and the other said, "peanuts, sugar, molasses, salt, hydro-something and diglicyride something or other, so I want to make sure that I am eating the closest to all natural and the less sugar and preservative stuff the better.Lesplease wrote:natty pb has no added sugar or hfcs etc. it is just nuts and salt.

Re: Work In Progress - FitoverForty
Yeah the ingredients on kraft r peanuts, sugar, hydrogenated veg oil ( to prevent seperation ) salt &fancy molasses. Says sodium @ 3 % or 70 mg.Though since I gave up bread I pretty much gave up PB & honey toast.Occaisonally ill stick a spoonful of peanut better in mouth, but not very often ; )

ok, u guys...I had peanut butter, almonds and salmon in the same day. Fat overkill?? I am so fixated on the carb thing that I forgot about the fats. UUUUGH!!! I am going to go crazy, I think.
Time to go to bed and start over again tomorrow. Need more snacks not containing nuts or pb. Hate cottage cheese!
