Still Fit At 50

Post by jarhead0313 »

I have recently started back at bodybuilding. I am 6 ft 215lbs and want to lose maybe 10 pounds but turn it into muscle does anyone have any idea's. Currently I lift free weight 3 times a week and I also do cardio for 35 min 3 times a week. I have been doing this now for about 2 months. Is there any type of work out I should focus on.

sounds like your on the right track, maybe try a split routine for the weight sessions and mix up the way you do the cardio sessions- ie different machines, programmes, intensities, duration as this should alos help keep things fresh and interesting.
for the weights when doing split routine some people like to train something like
day 1- chest and triceps
day2 back and biceps
day 3 legs and shoulders
by doing split routines this allows you to spend more time on each body part per session rather than try to workout everything each time. also mix up the exercises as different exercises will stimulate the body differently and rest days are important as well
also protien shakes straight after a workout especially a weights one might be good as this helps with recovery and if you training most days of the week you want this to be quick.
hope this helps

some people like this way of training
day1 chest and tris
day2 back and bis

for cardio try intervals, different machines, duration, intensities to mix things up a bit and to help with recovery try proteins shakes straight after the workout.
also mix up the resistance exercises are differnent exercises stimulate the body differently
