body is SO SORE! What do I do?
I have been working out regularly for a week now. I started with 30 min cardio then the next day I did 30 min weight training. I followed some of the exercises on this website. 3 sets of each exercise. 8-12 reps each of dumbell presses, squats, crunches on the exercise ball etc.. I switch things up and do like squats one day and the next weight training day i do lunges. So basically i have had three days of weights thus far. I did them yesterday and today is supposed to be cardio day but I woke up in so much pain I can hardly walk. I am doing the best I can to care for 3 small children in this much pain, I can't imagine getting on the elliptical in this condition.. Did I do something wrong? Am I working out to much?? Please help, I do not want to get discouraged from working out all together..

one thing with stretching...when you stretch you are actually causing more muscle damage, tiny but still if you're trying to recover than causing more dmaage isn't gonna do it...your better served to actually do some ligh exercises (squats, push ups etc) for wherever you are sore...this will privide a rush of blood to the muscle which will wash away any lactic acid by products left in the muscles...a good idea is to warm with with 1 x 100 for each muscle you trained the previuos day...use a very light isolation exercise that is no where near maximium wt

Ahhhhhh yes the first day back pain. I miss that. The best is when you get it hard in the legs and every single step feels like someone is jabbing knives in your hams. Or the day after you do lunges. The next day it feels like someone has beat your butt with a baseball bat!
Don't worry it will go away in about a week or so.
