Over age 60 mucle building

Post by jssd92103 »

If I have lost muscle tone, because of illness and I want to build it up again, will I be able to build it up and define it like I used to have before illness (which is no longer an issue)?

I was always well defined, now butt is almost gone- It was pretty good, and great definition in stomach and arms, now loose and jiggly. I lost about 10 lbs during the illness and would like to keep it off but build the muscle back up, I dont mind gaining weight but want it to be mainly muscle gain.

husband claims that at our age, we can no longer build up muscle.

One more question, if husband had never build up is pecs, can he start now to build them? How would he do that? His stomach is big too, but it is not fat- its hard like muscle and he claims it will never be able to go away, he is otherwise in great shape tall 6' waist 34 and athletic.

Any help thanks! :D

You definitely can still build muscle after 60. But you definitely cannot use all the methods used by the younger people. advice is to join a gym and get a reputable trainer who has worked with older folk. Please feel free to visit profile and take a look at photographs, you will see I am not one of the young ones. All the best.
