No comment on any of the above.lol

Well I got myself one of those scales that does body fat, water weight, etc. and hopped on this morning to find out that I am actually DOWN to 179 lbs! BUT and the great thing is - I've lost and it's now at 39%!!!! So it's going the right direction and by calculations I think I've ADDED approx. 2 lbs muscle / lean mass.
Feeling rubbish again today but going to do a weight workout - been off for two days now and I'm not going to let a chesty cough stop me. Taking Vitamin C and Buttercup cough medicine (which helps and is soothing the rawness)...Not quite as bad as yesterday so hopefully I'm on the way out of this.

No other news - just psyched about loss and wanted to journal it.

Hi Bonnie. No haven't seen a doc yet. gonna give it another day or so. little girl and husband both had it so I was bound to get it.

IN OTHER news.....had a crap day. son broke his arm at the playground and we are just back from hospital now. He is sporting a cool blue cast and lots of stickers from the nurses. I feel so bad for him and want to take his pain away. He's only six and I really, really wish he didn't have to endure the afternoon he's had. We thought at first it was sprained or something but when we got a good look at it on the x-ray table, there was a huge dip in his arm and I knew then it was broken. poor baby!

Off to bed, so tired after the drama!

Awwww....sorry about your son's broken arm. I understand how you feel about wanting to take his pain away. son broke his arm when he was eight. I too, thought is was just sprained, until the next day when I asked him to bend his wrist up and down and he said "I can't mommy, bone won't let me!" Aaaaak! Off the the ER we went, it was broken. He got a cool bright green cast that he proudly wore and showed off to all this friends, got their signatures on it. One thing little boys like to do is try to poke stuff down in their cast ( son tried to put Froot Loops down his...I guess he thought he could eat them later? lol!) so watch out for that. Also, bath time gets interesting when they can't get their cast wet. :P

Thanks ladies.
LP = you are a mad woman! That is wild.
Will definitely look out for him sticking things in the cast. He seems very tired today so no interest in 'playing' with the cast. Poor guy.
Bonnie - frind's son did the same when h was 2 and like you they didn't think it was broken so left until next day and he couldn't move it. I just thought of them and gauging guy's reaction said we'd get it checked out straight away. SO glad we did. He is snuggled on the couch with winnie the pooh (his favourite soft toy).

okay so still no workouts since FRIDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am on antibiotics for bronchitis. lovely. Feel like a piece of poo. I drank over 4litres of water yesterday and still feel dehydrated. oh well, am on the road to recovery now = next week I will be back to normal.

Unfortunately I have to assist in dance school's exams all day tomorrow and friday so have to find some energy from somewhere. Boss told me I was mad to go to work (the gardening thing) yesterday but I didn't want to let them down only the second week in! Have to pack overnight bags for me and the kids as mom is minding them, I have gotten ahead of myself on lesson plans and presentations for the garden care course so it's not all bad this rest thing. Getting stuff done in plenty of time.

that's it. sticking to diet - have increased vit c . sunday i was about 300 cals over limit but i pulled back so i guess it'll even out. besides, it's the FIRST day since I started this that i have gone over calorie limit and it was special birthday occasion. doubt i'll put the 17 lbs back on from 300 calories lol.

hankering for some broccolli and almond salad methinks. off to make some.

Now that is an interesting description :) But I know what you mean! Sounds like you are having a rough week - hang in there and I hope you feel better soon, and I really hope your son is managing with the cast!

I am having withdrawals from working out!!! helllp!!!lol
So I've spent the last two days assisting at the modern dance grade examinations for our dance school. Am so tired but SO proud of the students. They were absolutely brilliant and all their months of hard work and practice shone through and made me and sister so proud. They totally ROCKED their exams!

I'm feeling better only coughing a little now so am heading back to the gym tomorrow. Will be a full week since last workout and I CANNOT WAIT to get back to it.

too tired to say anymore, it's only 6:30m but bed beckons already. Just have to get the kids to bed first and then I'm having an EARLY night. I feel like I danced every single examination for every child I'm so tired!lol

I see nothing wrong with resting if you're tired or feeling ill.
When you come back... it will give you the energy and the motivation to hit it even harder!
Just continue to be good with your diets

very true nokie.

managed to maintain weight from last week. didn't lose but didn't gain. surprised as I had two days of hardly eating anything due to the dance exams and then two days of feeling ravenous and while staying within caloric limits, ate a bazillion cards.

pulled it back today and ate a bit better. energy still very low unfortunately. have a tonne of work to do tonight so can't see where I can fit in a workout this evening. might just have to wait till tomorrow.
today's diet

weetabix x 2 with ff milk, sm handful almonds, peanut butter on 1 ww bread 500 mls water
tuna & mayo with salad on ww bread 500mls water
tuna & mayo with salad, on ww bread (again, I had opened the can and split it over two meals) 500 mls water
steamed chicken, in mushroom sauce, broccoli, carrots, mushrooms and onions 500 ml water
sesame crackers with peanut butter and protein shake

too much bread today although the wholewheat bread i had is only 8 g carbs per slice and only 48 cals per slice, still managed to keep split 37% protein, 42%carbs, 21% fat

workout
3kms moderate pace walk this morning (the school run) - i think this will have to be it unless i suddenly peak this evening with energy and get prep work for gardening course done early (doubt it though, on own tonight so have bedtime and homework to do still on own)...

crap. well tomorrow I know I'll feel better again and will be able to get a workout in as the day won't be as busy as today.
onwards and upwards!

179 lbs today.
will finally be doing weights today. First day I've felt up to it. Was supposed to go and buy a bike this morning but I didn't get paid. boohoo. so it will have to wait a couple of weeks.
need to have a bike, stationary bike and barbell set bought before the easter break for school (two weeks) as I won't be able to get to gym for those two weeks and I've already lost enough time with this bronchitis). Once I have those I won't have to worry about not being able to get to the gym everyday. Need to start working out again as I feel quite lethargic after the antibiotics etc.

so off I go!
onwards and upwards

gaaahh! i had a lovely big post typed up and I lost it!

the gist of it was - weighed in at 178 lbs this morning....
workout today
squats 20 kgs 15 x 3
lunges & bicep curls 6kgs 24 x 3
clean & press 12kgs 15 x 3
deadlift 25kgs 20 x 3
press ups 10 x 3
tricep dips (had to abandon)

was VERY low on energy - don't know why. perhaps crap night's sleep last night. had to drop some of weights too... squats i had up to 25kgs, clean & press 20 kgs and deadlifts were 45 kgs but i literally just couldn't do it today.
hope to work back up to it over the coming week.

eats today
weetabix x 3 & 200 mls 1.5% milk (didn't manage any protein here - boo hiss)
almond muesli bar &750 mls water
100g turkey & salad on whole wheat with 30g cream cheese
750 mls water during workout
protein shake & handful of almonds & green tea
mince beef with taco seasoning , sauteed onion and mushrooms in a wrap with 75g cottage cheese and side salad & 750 mls water
2 sesame crackers with 1 tbsp peanut butter & 750 mls water

am going to buy a bike when I get paid from job. can't wait. can go cycling with the kids afternoons. also thinking of starting a training regime with a view to doing a long distance cycle in the autumn to raise funds for the dance school. would give me something to work towards so going to look at that over the next few days. Feel like weight loss etc. isn't enough of a goal for me - need to be able to DO something with the fitness iykwim? brother in law is really into cycling so might rope him in to the cycle as well. husband enjoys it as well but hasn't cycled in ages so would be a good chance to get him moving again too (besides the 3 nights a week he runs 15kms).

onwards and upwards!
