Day 234

Breakfast, protein shake and wheatabix both with semi skimmed milk.

Break and lunch, had ham sandwiches.

Bought a semi skimmed milk carton (250g) - 125 cals, 10.2g protein, about 5.4g fat.

Got home, yougurt, bannana.

Can of tuna with a bit of peanut butter before workout.

Workout

Protein shake with semi skimmed milk.

good?

:D

Dinner has been cooked - spaghetti bolognese, is this ok to have? If it's not suitable then il find something else.

I checked the nutriton value of the same beef in the freezer i belive and it had alot more fat than protein so only had a few moutfuls.

Instead had a glass of semi skimmed milk, strawberry yougurt and 4 egg whites although i dislike them.

I don't see why spaghetti bolognese can't be a nice and healthy meal :D Whole wheat spaghetti not bad, lean ground beef good, tomato sauce good (depending on what you put in it), a side salad good!

NICE JOB ON THE MEALS MARTIN!!!

You're doing awesome!

With the spaghetti bolognese (I really have no idea what goes into it?). If whole wheat pasta, lean ground beef, and veggies were used then it is fine. However if white pasta and high fat beef are used then its not so great. A lot of regular beef that you buy from the store is LOADED with saturated fat which isn't the best option. Good job on those eggwhites!

I'm proud of you. Keep it up!

Minced Beef can be a Saturate carrier, but also a good Fat carrier, as Meat is an Omega 6 source to some extent.

The ratio from memory, is roughly around 35-40% Saturate, 60-65% unsaturate, but again, portion size also plays a part in how much Saturate is consumed.

You might get slightly more in one meal than would be desirable, if you were trying to space out the Saturate over the course of a day, taking into account that 70g Fat, as a representative of 2,000 calories a day, gives you a limit of 20g Saturate per day, the other 50g being Unsaturate.

So as long as Saturate intake in other meals wasn't too proactive in raising daily Saturate Fat content, assuming you don't eat Mince daily, you won't be really getting an issue. Certainly not a cumulative one.

Yeah i don't think it was such a good idea to have so i didn't.

Day 235

Breakfast, protein shake and a bowl of wheatabix.

4 small choclate squares, which isn't even 84 cals, prob about 70, just as a small treat, cant do much harm right?

Not much food choices but don't wana go off track, pear, tablespoon pnut butter and 3 scrambled eggs. Stil peckish though

30MINS CYCLING cardio.

Had a can of tuna

Dinner was cooked, sausage rolls, peas and chips

had 1 sausage roll as i only had a can of tuna, probably shouldn't but as long as it don't affect progress it's ok.

Hi Martin,

The chocolate definitely won't set you back too much as long as you limit it and don't have it everyday. Everybody needs a little chocolate once in a while for sanity purposes. I haven't had any in 9 weeks (or really anything tasty) and i'm on the verge of insanity right now. :)

Only having one sausage roll isn't terrible. How many calories/fat/protein do those things have in them?

How was the cardio? How are the weights going?

Yeah, that's right Cassie, and damn, that would make me insane lol.

Day 236

Breakfast, protein shake, and 1 slice of toast with peanut butter. Little bit of the sausage roll, but good news is shopping has come and going to workout today 8)

Had about half a pack of ocean sticks, about 8g protein 150 cals, small bit of cottage cheese, and a prohobitic yougurt, had a protein shake with water before small workoujt - dumbell press, set of flys, rows, shoulder press, curls. Done a little bit of pull ups, while i feel energetic in myself, body feels tired, if that makes sense.

Some peanuts

So hard to resist these nice tasting foods when im surrounded by them.

Dinner - jacket potato, put some cottage cheese on it. chicken portions, and greens.

It does make me a little insane. However I feel like i've been doing this bodybuilding diet for so long now that it doesn't really bother me too much anymore. Nothing tastes as good as being fit feels. I'd rather be able to get up on stage and win trophys than have the temporary taste of unhealthy food in mouth.

Your meals look good today Martin. You really are doing great. Be proud of yourself for your hard work and dedication. I'm sure proud of ya!

Do you feel bloated often Martin? I used to be bloated ALL the time then I cut wheat out of diet and it helped immensly! I realized I was intolerant to wheat products so things like bread, crackers, cereal, pasta would bloat me up like crazy. Many people also have intolerances to dairy. If you find that your bloated alot it could be due to a food allergy or even a slight intolerance. Have you noticed if there are certain foods that bloat you more than others?

Well hello Les! Long time no talkie! Oh man realizing that I had a wheat intolerance seriously changed life! I used to get awful stomach issues and was bloated about 75% of the time. It was so frustrating to work so hard only to still look bloated all the time! I feel much better now and honestly don't even miss the wheat.

Lesplease wrote:salt will cause water retention. if you are drinking enough water then salt won't be a problem. bloating form a wheat intolerance will often be accompanied by gas or other GI distress/discomfort, and will NOT be helped with increasing water intake.
Is it possible to have a soy intolerance? I used to eat the Fiber One bars and other soy based bars but I would bloat like I have never seen - it was just as you described above. it seems like anytime I eat soy that happens.

Back, last night had a pint of lager, and for dinner, some chips and a bit of chicken breast from a chinese shop.

Then had a can of beans later.

This morning had a fry up breakfast at a cafe, well sausage, egg, bit of bacon, beans, hash brown, plummed tomatoes and a bit of bread, coffee.

Not great but going to do cardio now and have a smallish lunch, probably tuna and get back on track.

Did 30mins cardio cycling, put it on another level - meaning a harder gear cycling, didn't burn as many calories but hopefully it'll help sort legs out, so badly want a 6 pack! Instead of that bloated/ incomplete look.

can of tuna.

Dinner, was going to have a chicken korma ready meal but seemed high in fat for some reason, so instead i had a piece of french bread with peanut butter, and a can of baked beans.

10pm - had a protein shake with semi skimmed milk so prob around 300 cals, but didn't fill me up.

Had some peanuts with it. But im worried with eating these as they high in fat.
