OMGosh a Little Iron!! He is adorable. :D It's great for your kids to be inspired by your attitude on fitness. You (and your wife) are setting a great example of living a healthy lifestyle. :D

They all love to be in the gym with me, just keeping them from lifting. They don't understand the age thing......just if Dad does it, they want to...... :)
That's so awesome though. I love parents, I think they are awesome and that I'm REALLY lucky to have parents like them, but I really wish they were into exercise and nutrition. It would have helped me a ton. (Or helped me from being a ton, as the case may be. :P)
Parenting is super important, and I'm hoping to generate an interest in boys to live a healthy, fit lifestyle right from a young age.

Ask him what he wants for supper, and he'll say a bowl of carrot, its really bizarre. I should have had him turn around, you can see like every muscle in his back. other boys like bready (is that a word) foods, and there not as lean as youngest. I just about cracked when he put the "face" on......one of those fun parenting moments your glad you caught on film. I didn't think I did that when I posed.

Tues. 2-9-10

Deads--12x135, 10x185, 7x255, 6x255, 5x255, 3x255

Close Grip Row--12x90, 10x140, 8x150, 7x150

Wide Grip Pull-up--(-50)8,7

Bent Row--12x45, 12x65, 12x75

Trying to iron out a back routine. Always feels weird doing bent rows after doing deads as lower back is pretty well worked.

Sat. 2-13-10

Back Squat (to parallel) 12x75, 7x135, 7x135, 7x140, 6x145

Front Squat--12x65, 10x75, 8x85, 6x85

Back Squat--12x45

Felt gr8 to have 135+ on going to parallel, legs are so weak, but gaining slow. Glutes need lots of work also. Wife says glutes are growing, so thats a good sign.

Sun. 2-14-10

5 hard played VB games, about 2.5 hours total. Shoulder took a beating from spiking balls. Lots of ice tonite.

Mon. 2-15-10

Flat Bench--12x45, 12x95, 10x155, 4x165, 4x155, 6x155

Incline Bench--8x115, 7x115, 7x115, 7x115

Close Grip Bench--12x85, 12x90, 10x90, 9x90

Tricep Pushdown--9x60, 10x60, 8x60, 7x60

Both shoulders hurting, especially hitting arm, but worked through the reps slow, and was able to get in a nice workout despite a little bit of discomfort.

Awwwwwww! Your little guy is SO cute!

daughter (she's 9) loves to come "work out" with me when I'm up in our gym doing cardio. I got these little 3 pound dumb bells for her and pumps away and then proudly flexes her muscles for me.

It's sooo important to set and example for your children! :o)

Great job on the workouts!

Thats really awesome. It's so amazing how impressionable they are at those ages, and they want to be just like us. We have three boys and they all can't wait to be old enough to lift, they are always in and out of the gym whenever I'm in there.

Tues. 2-16-10

Deads--12x135, 10x185, 6x255, 6x255, 6x255, 5x255

Close Grip Seated Row--12x90, 11x140, 8x150, 8x150, 7x150, 7x150

Wide Grip Pulldown--8x110, 7x110, 7x110, 7x110

Overall good workout, picked up a couple of reps on the deads. 2.5 hours of Volleyball in the evening. Not super strenuous, but got heart going. Chest pretty sore from mon.

Wed. 2-17-10

BB Curl--12x45, 9x75, 8x75, 5x75

DB Hammer Curls--8x30, 7x30

Did this one in the morning before going to work.

Sat. 2-20-10

Squat to Parallel--12x45, 12x75, 10x135, 6x145, 6x145, 6x145

Step-ups--12x45, 12x55, 12x65, 12x65

Shoulder Press--12x45, 12x65, 10x85, 6x90, 7x85

Upright Row--12x65, 10x70, 7x70, 10x65

Came into this workout tired, hoping I would wake up, which I did. Quads were toast after, and shoulders felt unusually pumped. I drop the bar to upper chest on shoulder press, and hear a little creaking in shoulders. Maybe going to low. Can definately feel legs afterwards.

Haha.....well I'm glad I'm not the only one. I always try to change something when I hear unwelcome sounds. If I go behind head, of course I don't hear it, but that is improper, and dangerous

Mon. 2-22-10

Flat Bench--12x45, 12x95, 8x160, 8x160, 5x160, 7x135

Incline Bench--9x115, 7x115, 7x115, 5x115

Close Grip Bench--10x95, 9x95, 9x95, 8x95

Triceps Pushdowns--12x60, 6x60, 6x50

Tri's were shot after the third set, and felt like they were going to lock up, or tear in half, so I called it good. Super pumped.

Tues. 2-23-10

SLDL--12x135, 12x135, 12x135, 11x135

Seated Close Grip Row--15x90, 12x140

Standing Bent Close Grip Row--12x90, 12x115, 9x140, 10x140

One Arm Cable Pulldowns--12x30, 12x40, 12x45

Not sure the technical term, but the stanging close grip rows, are when I tuck one end of an Olympic bar into a corner and load the other end with weights, use a close v-handle under the bar to grasp and pull to mid-section. I don't figure in the weight of the bar.
One arm pulldowns are a little different, but I wanted to try them in place of wide grip pulldowns, or chin-ups. Really good stretch, and picked up a little oblique work in the process.

Evening--2.5 hours of Volleyball play. Not super strenous, but did work up a decent heart rate.

Sat. 2-27-10

Squat (to parallel)--12x45, 12x75, 10x135, 7x145, 8x145, 7x145

BB Lunges--12x45, 12x55, 12x55

Upright Row--12x45, 12x55, 12x65, 8x75

DB Shoulder Press--12x30, 9x30, 8x30, 7x30

Good workout. Legs were toast after 3 sets of lunges, so I called it good.
