Question
Ok I dont do any cardio at the gym at all and I dont really consider that I ever do any. But I bike to and from work. Which is about 16km both ways and that takes around 45min each way. But I've always ran or biked to work. And in alot of these threads It says your not suppose to do cardio back to back or it counts as its own day or something. Like its an actual workout. I've never really considered it as such. But should I be planning weight training in accordance to these? Or is 32km bike ride not enough to effect the body in any meaningful way.
Re: Question
Depnds on how you do it, and how long.
A Car uses more fuel the faster it goes or the longer it goes. If you cycled slower it might conserve more natural resources like Glycogen, ATP. muscle tissue, etc etc, but take longer.
The cycling might be a bit excessive perhaps, but if you eat in a sensible way, that is calorically beneficial, then no problems really and yes weight training could be good, though in order to prevent or reduce any potential muscle building issues, the weightlifting would be more beneficial before you cycle, as opposed to between cycles or after.
However if you could only lift at the end of the day, thne fair enough, but provided eating was as described, sensible, with good manageable non-skimpy portions, thne you'd be okay as you'd be fueling yourself adequately for the day.
You would be getting some rest time, because you don't work every day, so it probably wouldn't be physical overkill every week.

Re: Question
Ya I usually workout before hand. And I go at a pretty decent pace. 45 mins for 16km. But thx. If it was really bad for me I'd probably spring for a bus pass.
