If Im not sore does that mean...
If im not sore the next day does that mean I didnt work muscle group hard enough? There are times I try start a new workout and Im sore for a week, then a do the same workout after the week has passed with the weight increased by 5 or 10 pounds and im barely sore the day after, should I change workout everytime? or is it ok not to be sore after an intense workout?
I've almost never had DOMS. DOMS is an indicator of nothing, except that you've well and truly caned a muscle to an inch of its life, and created a multitude of Microtears, which will facilitate good growth nearly all the time.
Look at it this way. If two guys of comparable height and weight, train Biceps, one does 9 sets, one does 8, the guy who does 9, might get DOMS, the guy who does 8, might not, so does the guy who did the extra set, get massively more growth potential?
Not really, unless he is perhaps doing some slightly advanced exercises, with a 5 rep intensity, and 40 second set breaks, and the other guy does more basic exercises with a 12 rep intensity and 90 second set breaks for example.
How you train gets results. Training where you get DOMS is almost a sure fire bet, that good results will be created, but it isn't necessaary to make results happen, e.g. it's not a major trigger for growth in opnion.

The cast in the movie 300 was trained by this guy from Gym Jones. I saw a video of their workout where the trainer said something about them almost never doing a workout twice. Meaning, they do all kinds of workout, never letting the body adapt to it, always changing things up. Not sure if that might help though. I think it was crossfit or something.
Many people alter workouts after a while. Could be a week, two weeks six weeks, it just depends on whther the person is enjoying the routine, and is getting results, or feeling good about what they're doing.
I personally hardly ever change, but that's just me, I like the familiarity, and just being able to get down to a routine, and not have trouble getting used to changing rep ranges, and therefore trying to find new weight levels that suit, or adjusting to exercises that are new, or haven't been done for ages.
I can start to workout, know what I'm doing, and crack on with it. For needs, that way of working suits me just fine.
