Here's a little nugget from the AA big book that encapsulates journey

At some of these we balked. We thought we could find an easier, softer way. But we could not. With all the earnestness at our command, we beg of you to be fearless and thorough from the very start. Some of us have tried to hold on to our old ideas and the result was nil until we let go absolutely. Half measures availed us nothing. We stood at the turning point.

Basically you are ither all in or all out.......you can't get a little bit pregnant

Ok it's been a week and not a good one at that we all go through our highs and lows and the last 7 days has definitely been a bummer. However we must push through these times if we want to succeed even if we are just going through the motions at least we are doing something.

So I had a major win today with program (see workout programs board for that) hopefuklly that little win will get me back energized and motivated again as motivation and drive has been sadly lacking lately.

There you have it folks it aint all wine, women and song. Sometimes it is hard, sometimes it is distasteful and sometimes it is damn inconvenient but if you want the rewards you have to dig deep when times get hard.

I agree 100%. We all have our battles, problems, obstacles, unique to ourselves - but we all share a common goal, and have to remember, as you said, to dig deep when times get hard, and try harder when you feel like quitting, take a deep breath and push through when you think you can't go anymore - to just get through it, and the feeling of accomplishment, and seeing results, achieving a goal - makes it all worthwhile. :D
I really like the name of your thread. That is what we all need every now and then to make it, just a little "ray of hope" to pull us through! :D

If it is really hard even if you just go and so 2.5 mph for 10 mins and a few chest presses just do something eventually the funk will lift but if you let the funk overtake you it will get harder and harder and harder to get going again. There is something to be said for momentum and inertia a body in motion will tend to stay in motion and a body at rest will tend to stay at rest.

In the end whether we are in motion or at rest is up to us and we are accountable for the results
