Running

Post by Hy_001 »

I usually run on the footpath (sidewalk) and its concrete. I know this isnt very good but I don't have a lot of options... what about running on the beach on the hard sand near the water? I've heard this is supposed to be harder than concrete...

beach runs r excellent either in soft sand or shallow water...i wood try sprints on an oval too as they're probably the best cardio for fat loss with skipping

Yes doing interval work on an oval would be great.

Pick a distance, approx 150-200 metres and run in at about 70% intensity.
Then have a 45 second break and run back. You can do this in a set of 4 and then take a 2 minute break before doing another set. As you get fitter , don't increase intensity but decrease the rest breaks so you are having only 30 seconds between reps and you are doing more sets.

As with anything just start where you feel comfortable and work your way up. This is probably the fastest way I know to get both anaerobic and aerobically fit.

Hope you found this helpful.
