okay, I am sure it has been talked about before, passing gas. The healthier I eat, the more gas I pass. I don't mind it so much. Everyone does it multiple times a day. Thing is when we do sit-ups at the dojo, the poor person holding me feet down, well you know. Then I can't get through sit-ups because I am laughing SO hard, because I am quite embarrassed. This has happened maybe a 10 times to me. I hate it!
I hate taking medications, but I got to stop this. Are there medications, over the counter, that can help me on karate days. How long do they need to take effect? What are the side effects do they have? If I take them only 2X a week, will I have any long term effects?

Gas X might help... however then again it might not. They do have prescription stuff out there, however it doesn't really work all that well either. experience is that diet does make a big difference. And you're totally right, the healthier the diet often the worse the gas. I've found that legumes and wheat can REALLY mess with stomach. Many people are intolerant to wheat and don't even know it. I used to have horrible stomach aches as well as other "issues" until I started eliminating foods out of diet and found that wheat really doesn't agree with me. When i cut out the wheat the bloating and gas went away. Eggs/eggwhites can also cause problems in some people... as can dairy. What does a typical day look like for you for food? Have you noticed if some days are worse than others? Are there certain foods that trigger it?

One of the first things that a G.I. specialist will do is check to see if you have lactose intolerance. If you do, then that is the probable cause and is easily treated (or avoided).
Your med insurance should cover this.

Thanks guys. I seem to have more problems after easting certain veggies, like brocolli and the like. I'll try the gasX but just on those days.
