Wow, you were actually brave enough to count your Christmas consumption calories? I didn't dare try to keep up, especially after third 7 layer bar...
I say to just move on from here, can't change or take away the calories. It was a day of eating overload for alot of people, so don't stress over it. Just continue on, work hard, get back on track eating and exercise wise...that's what I'm gonna do.

Re: christmas-DAMAGE CONTROL
Great advice! We all need a little break every once in a while and the holidays are a great time to do so. To be honest, I've been on a break for the past 2 weeks.
I made a deal with myself that I was going to enjoy the holidays and the food that comes with them. However, I also made a deal that I wasn't going to allow myself to miss a workout and was going to step it up in the gym to help offset the extra calories. I also decided that I was going to eat healthy whenever possible and only indulge on FAVORITE treats instead of simply eating everything in sight. I'm not going to lie, I've put back quite a bit of chocolate over the past couple of days and pants today feel just a little bit tighter then they were a couple of weeks ago. However I also feel like I had a little "food vacation" and I'm SO ready to get back on track today. I think I got all those cravings out of system and am tired of feeling bloated and lethargic from the sugar thats been in system for the past weeks. I honestly feel like that break was needed and helped me to prepare for the upcoming contest diet.

Well, guys, at least I am not alone. I started the holiday season with good intentions but then it just slipped away. I kind of thought I "deserved" the indulgences. Anyway, I have eaten everything yummy in sight for the past week and skipped workouts.
I am resuming training with trainer Monday, Jan 4th. and yeah, I am sooooo ready!!! Amatlak, I truly hope it won't take me 2 months to reverse any setbacks!! If that is the case it definitely was not worth it at all!!! Can one week really set you back two months??? Ok, I am bumming and not feeling very good about myself at the moment.
Anyway, Cassie, I am with you, girlfriend!! I do feel lethargic and pretty yucky even though the treats tasted very yummy! Bring on the oatmeal and eggs!!
So I am going to pick up journey where I left off. On a good note, I saw some family members who I have not seen in a little while and they where floored by tranformation!! Great motivation! It's going to be a tough couple of weeks weaning off the sugar but I can do it again. Lynne, no more 7 layer bars for you either! LOL

Well, I was kind of justifying holiday treats by rationalizing that since I have been eating right, weight training, lots of cardio and losing weight then metabolism must be amped so would probrably take more than a week to turn that around. I was probrably incorrect in that theory!! I feel a little bloated but not like I have gained any real weight. Maybe a pound or two. I am going to drink a lot of water in the coming days and get back into some cardio tomorrow. I need to get some of that water weight down. I ate a lot of salty foods! Makes me feel like crap!

im glad im not the only one.i know its crazy counting calories on christmas day and on holiday. I just wanted to be sure, should i gain weight at least i would know where it came from.I have not been doing much working out either because im away from home.but i have been doing alot of leisure walking which is great.because i have not been cooking the food i eat(its been hotel food mostly) so thats why i needed to be extra careful.
im going back home next tues and i cant wait.
