LOL! ah, come on Brenty! :D :D
I read where there is a lot of snow up north....it's hot and humid here...72 degrees today :( It's hard to feel "Christmassy" when you can go shopping in your shorts and flip flops! :? If it gets much warmer we will have to switch the A/C back on!
work closed at noon today, so I am off work now for 4 1/2 days!! Wow! Hopefully in between baking, wrapping presents, celebrating Christmas, visiting family, and cleaning up afterwards...I will get some great workouts in...starting with an early a.m. run tomorrow :D

Simple answer then is, don't do that. Then you feel more inkeeping with the time of year :P.

The last bit of your comment I mean. Feel free to go shopping whenever you like

Well I've been incognito around here for a few days....hiding in the background, chiming in on a few other threads, but avoiding own because I haven't really done anything worth posting about  Kind of gotten off track...lost focus, but am trying to regain some sense of eating/workout ethic.
Christmas was wonderful, and a good time was had by all. I partook of all the Christmas goodies and then some...and I don't regret it, but now I am kind of sick of not being on eating plan, I don't like how i have been eating - without any forethought or planning - and we all know what that leads to......BAD FOOD CHOICES! :x I feel heavy and sluggish - not normal self at all. So, I am glad to be "starting over" and refocusing, getting back on plan and work out schedule.
I haven't ran in a week. I did something to right foot - dropped something on it - it is swollen and bruised so I haven't done any kind of workout. It is better today - thank goodness!! Hopefully tomorrow I can run or workout.
Went to the grocery store earlier today and got downright depressed! I had noticed several folks here talking about "quinoa" so I thought I would buy it. Well, when I finally found it (on the bottom shelf on the "gluten free" aisle) it looks like birdseed and a little bag of it costs $9.12!!!  Good grief! I just did not have it in the budget. I also wanted to try agave syrup for sweetener, but again I got sticker shock - $5+! It makes me sad that in order to buy healthy, you have to spend so much more. Times are pretty hard right now financially for us, and I started to understand why so many people are getting fatter...because all the bad stuff (non organic, processed, fake, etc.) is cheaper, alot cheaper.
Anyway...didn't mean to get on a rant, I did manage to buy alot of fresh produce and fruit and a big bag of frozen chicken breasts - so I am planning on making some salads, steamed and broiled veggies. I bought a big veggie tray (no...I'm not gonna eat the ranch dip that came with it  but it's killin' me!) and I plan to munch on that in the evenings, take some to work for snacks.
So, I hope everyone survived the holidays, and maybe now we can all look ahead and focus on the new year, and continuing our weight loss/fitness journeys! :D

The main thing is to just do the best you can. Keep your chin up, keep pushing forwards and hopefully you'll be fully right again.

Good luck and best wishes.

Yes healthy food is out of the range of alot of people. I think it is probably a huge influence to the obesity situation in the world.Hope things work out soon for you, keep up the determination :)

Hey girl,

Do you have any bulk food stores in your area? I buy quinoa, millet, wheat berries, flax, and other grains in bulk.. much cheaper that way. You're right, eating healthy is so expensive.

With that said... I'm glad you were able to take a little break from the holidays and enjoy some treats! I know what you mean about feeling sluggish and heavy. As I sit here and type this I feel like a big fat cow! However, I also know that the break from the diet was much needed and i feel like I'm more motivated than ever to get on track and work towards goals. Youre human and you deserved the break! Use this next week to regroup and plan your attack for the upcoming year and be ready to hit it hard on 1/1/10 to start 2010 off with a bang!
