I am blown away by this, is it possible?

Post by garganch »

I HAVE 2 YOUNG BOYS AND AM LOOKING TO PUT THEM IN STRENGTH TRAINING, I CAME ACROSS THIS ARTICLE AND I AM VERY INTERESTED IN THIS CONCEPT. I HAVE BEEN WORKING AND TRAINING FOR MANY YEARS AND HAVE EXPERIENCED A LOT. ANY THOUGHTS FROM THE COMMUNITY WOULD BE GREAT.

THANKS

I am in favor of strength and conditioning training for youngsters, but not weight lifting. Push ups, pull ups, squat thrusts, abdominal exercises etc.

The cartilage in the joints is not fully formed in youngsters and I would be reluctant to over-stress the joints with heavy lifting until the child has grown to near full height (17 or 18 years old).
