how to get a bigger butt and legs

Post by mwheeler67 »

if you read post about bulk, you already know I am a small guy (I'll try and upload pictures at some point). I have no butt right now. I know some exercises to do (I do leg raises and butt raises on the balance ball), but I'm not seeing any results. Am I doing the wrong kind of exercises to add weight in lower area? Also, I would like to get some bigger legs. soon to be father in law (I'm getting married in July) calls me chicken legs because I have such skinny legs. I run sometimes but everyone tells me that will make legs smaller, so I'm just starting to do wind sprints up hills and the leg press. Just so you guys know: I can't do squats because I have bad knees. Is there a good alternative to the squat? Thanks again guys!

I can empathize. I have had the same problem with having skinny legs. In high school I attended gym class once due to all the teasing.
When I was running some 20 years ago, I was running power sprints up one of the steepest hills in the area, and then bouncing backwards down this hill on calfs. It didn't do much for butt if I recall, but oh, what beautiful shape it gave legs. Sprinter legs have that wonderful sweep which can trump and obscure not having a butt I tell you. I use to run about ten 40 yard dashes with a ten yard warm-up(50 yards altogether). If you don't have a steep hill, then settle for some flat small grass somewhere. The first week or so is all about getting your running mechanics and form down. After that, you'll feel like you are on cruise control. Important: Get those mechanics down. Your head and arms shouldn't be going everywhere for example.

Good luck! :)
