hahaha! Yeah, I can't slip nothin' past you guys.. :D But I didn't eat it afterall, opted for the grilled chicken breast sandwich instead. 8)
Todays workout:
Got up EARLY (extreme effort here.. after late night rehearsal and getting to bed late  ) this a.m. and ran a fast 3.1 miles on treadmill.
Timed run: 3.1 (5K) - 27:35
Felt great....reminded me how much I used to like starting day off with exercise!
Todays meal plan:
breakfast: bowl of grits, smoked turkey
lunch: mixed green salad w/chicken breast, 1/2 avocado, mushroom w/homemade dressing
snack: LF mozz. cheese stick - apple
Dinner: oven baked tilapia, steamed broccoli, cottage cheese, salad w/homemade dressing
snack: PB & celery or carrots
Way to go with the morning workout! I'm such a huge fan of morning workouts! If i don't work out before coming to work it just messes up whole day. Plus, knowing that I HAVE (no excuses, the only way I miss a workout is if i'm on deathbead)to wake up at 4:30 forces me to get to bed early so i can get up and get a solid workout in. Plus, when you workout in the morning you are less likely to skip it later in the day because you've already gotten it out of the way.

Great job!

That's right, plus it gives you the opportunity to get another quick 15 to 20 workout in th evening too, if ya wanted. :D I may try to do that, just to keep the ole metabolism fires lit... :P

Oh yeah, I almost forgot -
1 lb. weight loss this week!!! :D :D :D

I hardly got through the rest of your post- when I saw this I had to immediately respond! That's AWESOME!!!!! You are doing great Lynne!

I find working out in the morning is best too - helps the diet as well, messes me up if workout is delayed. Also it does allow us fanatics to do something else in the evenings! :)

Congrats Lynne!

The only way to think :D I noticed gym has a flurry of acitivity lately, woman who attends also said " Maybe its those people who intend to eat alot during the holidays " I said that sounds as silly as those new years resolution people, every day is new years in life ;)

Great job on the weight loss, with the cutting of carbs, Im guessing will be alot more to follow that pound :)

Thanks Lu, and Bonnie!!! I am hoping the tweaking of diet and lessening of carbs will help me continue to knock a pound or two off every week. I really want to proceed with this "Work in Progress" or else I am gonna have to rename thread to "Work at a Standstill!"

I have another late night rehearsal tonight...but the church is catering our dinner. I have no idea what we are having..hopefully it will be something I can have...else wise I will just have to have a PB&J sandwich.....JUST KIDDING!!!! HAHAHA!

Have a great evening, day, morning...where ever you are! :D

Well, I did pretty good at the dinner. They had a buffet style table with crescent rolls, dinner rolls (bypassed these totally!) and they had chicken salad w/fruit (diced apples, grapes) in it. I chose the WW high fiber bread - no mayo - and made a chicken salad sandwich, then got just a tablespoon or so of some sort of spinach & corn dip and used what looked like whole wheat crackers (4 thin octagon shaped). Chose a slice of roast beef (without bread) also. By passed the dessert table (chocolate cupcakes with chocolate icicing!!!! Oh......I luvs me some chocolate cupcakes) and decided against them. They had pepperoni pizza & cheese pizza. I considered getting a piece of the cheese pizza and just eating the topping, but there was so much grease on top, it really kinda grossed me out - so I steered clear of the pizza as well. So...all in all not a bad night. :D
Had scrambled eggs and ham for breakfast today & lunch was 3 tacos w/cheese, dab of sour cream and guacamole, salsa.
Not sure on dinner yet...won't be home again, I'm babysitting niece and nephew tonight!
I don't think i have sat down (except for a few hours of sleep) in 3 days!!! :D
Have a great weekend everyone.

Get some sleep! Remember that's almost as important, maybe as important as everything else! You did good at dinner! It's soooo hard, I know :)

Life has been a bit hectic lately with choir rehearsals & then the performances - last night was from 4 p.m. til 8 p.m. before I was home. No workout since Thursday  Hopefully by Wednesday I will get everything back to normal. Tonight is the last performance of the Christmas Play, so I will be out again until 8 p.m.
Get this - the church is serving desserts for the audience to eat while they watch the play. Last night I walked out into the front hall where they had the tables set up with the dessert choices and OMGosh!!!! the smell of sugar filled the air - the tables were set with all kinds of pies, cakes, little square chocolate pieces...there was this one slice of cake that was chocolate with chocolate frosting with little chocolate shavings on top....oh..I was weak in the knees!! I wanted to just jump on the table and roll around in all those desserts!! haha! But I controlled myself, by passed the dessert table....well that is until later after the performance was over and I walked back out there...there was a slice of some kind of spice cake that was calling out name...honest to gosh, I think I heard it say "Lynne.....you know you are starving....you've worked hard....you deserve me!!" So I was pulled by forces out of control...and I scarfed down that piece of cake like no bodies business!! LOL! It was so good! Oh well....u gotta live a little!!
Hope everyone is off to a good start on their week. I'll get myself together and get back on the plan...I don't like being out of "routine"

Simple answer is, skip church instead of workouts, or one day soon you'll be in church, feeling as old as the roof

This time of year is so hectic, its hard to stay on track, you're still at it, and doing gr8. Don't despair. We have lots of cantata practices, also, one performance on the 20th in the morning service. Fortunately, not alot of snacks for practices.

OMG!! I totally understand - we really need to get over this holiday season - it's just too tempting! Like I said in thread, I really wasn't a dessert person before but now?!?!?!? What's up with that??

Well Lu, I hate to tell ya this...but from what I'm reading on the subject, it has to do with our age and the fact that our blood sugar levels are fluctuating, increasing our cravings for sugar, it a menopause thing...just one more thing we have to deal with as we get older! An increase in cravings for sugar, carbs and alcohol...now I know why I always want a piece of cake and a glass of wine!!!  LOL!

Today has started off good :D
Morning workout:
3 mile outdoor run - 6:20 a.m.
Felt great - 39 degrees, perfect! had a few hills in the run, so I tried to power up the hills and rest on the downhills. Was so happy just to have gotten up and actually get out the door - that was the biggest hurdle...the rest was just icing on the cake ( did I just say that?!!) haha! must...not...think...about...sweets....
Had just enough time to do 2 sets of 15 pushups...not much, but I dont think it's ever a waste of time to do a little versus none at all...it had to burn a few calories more than if I hadn't done them. Hopefully this evening I can do a upper body workout.
Todays meal plan:
post run: half banana
breakfast: WW sandwich w/smoked turkey breast & LF colby jack cheese, 1 tablespoon spicy mustard
lunch: grilled chicken salad or sandwich
dinner: home made chili using 93/7 hambgr. meat, ranch style beans, rotel tomatos, onions, bell pepper and chili mix - yumm!!

I love your posts!! You are so funny! Hey, not for nothing but have you read about Lesplease and Cassie's candy consumption??? I'm small potatoes compared to them!!! A little piece here, a little piece there, but they ate the whole dang thing! Finished off, all gone! I'm feeling rather "slender" now :)

I'm baking some new Protein Bars today ( third batch!) this time with Strawberry vs Choc Protein powder, and pomegranate applesauce, semi sweet dark choc mixed with butterscotch (only 1/2 cup though) I still didn't put any sugar substitute in - really doesn't need it. Can't wait to taste it this way. BTW- I still have lots left from the second batch, but I have been giving it away to friends and family to try. Even 6 yr old grandson said, yum~!!! He wasn't going to try them until I mentioned they had *chocolate* in them!
