Im Back

Post by Patrick »

Hey guys I use to post on here all the time but got away from the posting and have been training for the last year since you have heard from me...
Im currently bulking at 175 up from 140 so feeling pretty good about that. About 13% bf not so good about that lol
Lifts BP = 250(last night was the first for that)
Deadlift = 340x3 (i dont do max afraid of injury)
Squat =310x2 (afraid of injury again here sort of)

heres problem tho i train back and chest equally to even it out but after heavy chest days a get upper back pain... well not really pain more like muscle disconfort is this a form problem? or upper back not in line with bench yet... or is it jsut regular let me know what you think guys

back day consists of different exercises this is a typical day

Wide grip pull ups 3 sets 8 per set
bent over rows 3x8
seated row 3x8
lat pull down 3x8
and often back extension (good mornings) or deadlifts

i would expect your upper back to sore after back day...

don't be scared either not that you need a 1 rep max, if your a powerlifter yes, if you're not just stick with 3 rep maxes

i have established 1rm but its when i have a spotter present but havent done it a month or more as long as i can keep the weight going up on working sets im happy with that i dont care about deadlifting a car or anything haha

but swanso back is sore after chest day granted it was a heavy day but still seems a bit odd

that's a big imbalance, just because you do the same sets and reps, if the load is almost double then it's still not balance

where is the pain exactly?

pain free this morning which is good but still concerned the pain is in lats on the sides like you need to pull your back to crack it or something

dunno why you'd have pain on the sides of your lats from chest day...sure it's not DOMS from back day?
either way your upper back is weak, bring it up to par

Just wondering, how long have you been lifting???

Would you reccomend a muscle split routine over a full body routine??

ive done both it depends on the person i think some ppl respond better to split programs and some respond better to full body workouts. If your bulking i would tell you full body is the way to go tho jsut a suggestion
