:D Glad you liked it...It just sort of came to me while I was thinking about Christmas carols.

todays meal plan:

breakfast: 2 Omega-3 scrambled eggs w/tsp. flax & LF shredded cheese, smoked peppered turkey
snack: almonds, peanuts, pistachios
lunch: mixed greens salad w/grilled chicken breast, mushroom, tomato, 1/2 avocado & Homemade dressing (it has yogurt & parmesan cheese in it for more protein)
snack: LF mozz. cheese stick, almonds, peanuts
postwork: SoBe Life water w/1/2 scoop protein powder
Dinner - not sure yet maybe fish (I didn't have it last night - had chicken instead)
snack: cottage cheese w/grapes, celery & pb

todays workout:

4.5 miles treadmill run

timed 3.1 miles (5K) 29:35 (too slow...gotta push harder - felt tired during entire run)
ran another 1.4 miles - finished 4.5 miles in 44:54.

I need to get more disciplined overall. I only got 5 hours sleep last night, staying up working on a Christmas project, and it clearly showed in run today
Oh well, I'm not complaining...I am proud I stepped on the darn thing and struggled through it. Tomorrow will be a better day! :D

got this info off healthcastle.com website:
"Omega 3 enhanced eggs are from hens fed a diet flax seed or fish oils. Omega 3 enhanced eggs contain more omega 3 fatty acids and Vitamin E than the regular eggs. An independent test conducted by the CBC's TV show Marketplace found that omega-3 enhanced eggs contain approximately 7 times more omega 3 fatty acids than regular white eggs."

But I'm just eating them cause Brent is....and it seems to be working for him! :D just can't do the cauliflower at breakfast like he does, yet.

That sounds like such a good breakfast!!!
Oh gosh...it is so good. We got a peppered smoked turkey from hubbys work place for Christmas and we sliced it up and froze it in packages that we take out each week. I am loving the eggs too! I make breakfast, then take it to eat at work....while the envious eyes of co-workers look on. They never paid this much attention when I was eating oatmeal  Now I get these pitiful looks, like they want me to share....and I'm like - BACK OFF! GET YOUR OWN!! Don't make me hurt you!
(I do miss oatmeal tho'...but for right now I am trying to eat more protein, less carbs for breakfast - see if it makes any difference)

Lesplease wrote:I think you should leave carbs in the am. Certainly up the protein there, but try concentrating them into breakfast and post w/o. Tis brain food. Try keeping dinner and snacks lower carb maybe? Good luck (:
brentyboy wrote:Why not keep the oatmeal in and move it post-workout window?
I think the answer to best serve these two questions is to move workouts back to the a.m. time frame, instead of at 4 p.m. Then I could have oatmeal postwork and for breakfast. I could have the eggs and turkey for dinner, yes? I love eating breakfast food for dinner :D (just not pancakes and french toast w/syrup, huh? )

todays meal plan:

Breakfast: 2 O3 eggs scrambled w/LF mozz/chedd shredded cheese (less than 1/4 cup), smoked peppered turkey (heated in skillet with a tsp (or two!) of Omega 3 butter blend (Smart Balance).
snack: peanuts, almonds
Lunch: hubby took me out for lunch :D - so I ordered a Mesquite Wood Grilled Chicken Breast salad w/glazed walnuts, diced egg, bleu cheese crumbles (had these put "on the side") and dried cranberries (only ate 3 or 4 of these - figured they were high in sugar) and I had Honey Mustard dressing served on the side - dipped bites in it. CAN I GET A HIGH FIVE!! I am proud that I made those choices instead of the usual, ranch dressing slathered all over it, bleu cheese mixed in, croutons, etc.
I wasn't sure of the bleu cheese was a good source for protein or if the fat content kinda canceled out any goodness it has, so i only had a crumble or two - til I know for sure. Still had plenty of salad left (minus the chicken) so I brought it home for later.
snack: LF cheese stick, almonds
Dinner: ? I am going straight from work (5:00 p.m.) to a late night choir rehearsal - will not be home til 9 p.m. so I am not sure when I will be able to eat or what...thinking about going home and trying to eat a PB & J sandwich before I go to rehearsal. Then when I get home I can eat the other half of lunch salad w/shrimp added.
Any suggestions anyone? I guess there will be no workout for me today - dang it!! Not enough hours in the day...guess I should have gotten up earlier this a.m., I'm just so tired in the a.m.
Not only have i not been getting enough sleep at night (5 to 6 hours) but I am waking up several times a night with "night sweats" - yuck! Geez, what an awful feeling to wake up and be freezing, but be totally drenched in sweat - NOT HAPPY ABOUT THIS PHASE IN LIFE!!! :x Is this what it comes to? To be cursed with the dreaded "monthly" for the last 30+ years, and now this! I am so over it all... LOL!

aw come on......just a little carbs, pleaseeeeeeeeee  PB&J is the world's most perfect food - ya got protein in the PB, Whole wheat in the bread, and fruit in the jelly - what more could you ask for! (I'm sorry, I'm going thru carb withdrawals!)

I thought omega 3 eggs would be a fabulous idea. So I say to husband how we should start feeding our chickens flax. He looked at me like I just fell out of a UFO.

Definite HIGH FIVE for that!! :D All those little things add up - I really like the dipping the salads in the dressing - you use soooo much less that way!

I have to agree though - Breads and Sugar are not "our" friends - instead have that yummy peanut butter on celery - that's what I am now doing - wasn't it you where I got that idea :?

yeah, I suggested PB & celery to Brent a while ago :D
Okay, okay....I didn't eat the PB&J sandwich.... I opted for a grilled chicken sandwich instead...and only ate a few bites before I discarded the bread and just ate the chicken & the pickles that came on it. Yey me! And tonight I am exhausted - but I am pan heating (with one pat of butter) some shrimpies seasoned with cilantro & basil and tossing them in salad...with a little of homemade dressing.....yummmm :D
