I'm trying to gain weight, and I think I'm doing pretty good. I went from 150 to 160 in a month. The problem I'm having is weight is apparantly erratic. I measure when I get back from the gym and right before I go to bed, and I've noticed 3 lbs of difference within just a few hours. I'm sure it's just water weight or something like that, but it makes tracking weight very difficult. How do you get around that?
I'm measuring with a digital bathroom scale. Could that be the problem? I thought it was a pretty good one, but maybe I was wrong

Re: Erratic weight
Yea but a three pound pee is pretty rough. I'll give it a shot though
Re: Erratic weight
Strange but true.
One time I weighed self, then again without clothes on.
Difference in weight, 3lbs.
Then for a laugh I just weighed clothes / shoes. 1.8lbs.
So somehow 1.2 lbs of weight, had mysteriously dissapeared into thin air. Kind of like a twilight zone moment

Re: Erratic weight
Yea I knew about clothes. I'm just glad to see I don't have some freaky problem. I think just taking measurements once a week is probably the way to go.
How do you lose significant amounts of weight through respiration in a day?

Re: Erratic weight
Weight changes can also occur daily ,through things like minor changes to Bone density, Muscle, Water retention and Fat levels. Some of these things relate to dietary intake, but some can relate to possible other things like stress, hindering Muscle preservation through Protein destruction, weakening Metabolism and also creating more potential Fat reserves.
