Protein Shake
Finally have dispossible(aside from alcohol and food) money agian so I figured I'd try a protein shake. The one I got is about 25 g per serving. I just bought it now so I took it when I got home (midnightish, first chance I had worked out at 5:30ish) that'll be all for today.
How many servings would you recommend a day. I'm thinking without it I get around 100-120 of protein on a normal day. And when should I take em? I usually work out at 5:30.

Ways to take it.
1. A scoop after workouts, and then perhaps a light meal.
2. 2 Scoops after a workout, as Insulin has been affected, and therefore you can have approximately twice as much Protein, for roughly 30-60 minutes Post-workout.
3. If it contains Maltodextin, you could have some with your Breakfast, as to understanding Maltodextrin, is a combination of Maltose, and Dextrose, (Glucose), Sugars
Dextrose, (Glucose), being 100 on the GI rating, Maltose being about 105, so the combination of the two, which I think does create Maltodextrin, would result in a Protein supplement, that increases Blood Sugar by about 102%, which is useful as Blood Sugar is often low when you wake.
If you did do this, and I know some people, I believe Dorian Yates did this, you could have a scoop of Shake, then something else like a Bowl of Cereal, to get your Carbs, and a bit more Protein, or a Scrambled / Boiled Egg, and some Fruit, to get the additional Protein, and Carbs.
Having said that though, as Swanso said, you could just take some after workouts, and eat solid food for something like a Breakfast, as there would be no need to have something like a Shake, when you could get enough adequate Protein anyway.

Take them after Hockey as well, unless you eat fairly soon after that in which case don't bother.
Yes Mskitty most protein powders are fine for Women. The only things you need to bear in mind, is not to bother with the Weight Gainer style ones, packed with extra calories, and if you're Lactose intolerant, go for ones with a Soy or vegetable based content.
