I do have a great cake recipe that I like, but problem is that all of those baked goods put weight on me immediately! The good news is that the protein brownies I've been making don't seem to have that effect, so they've become a regular treat. (Sorry to talk about brownies again!)

Best thing so far that I've found for dessert is a tofu mousse...basically just blend some tofu with some melted dark chocolate and a little agave syrup. Easy and delicious!
Mmmm! Tofu mousse! I found a recipe the other day for pumpkin tofu mousse! I can't wait to make it!!! I totally know what you mean about baked goods putting weight on you. I blow up like a blimp if i let myself eat that stuff. I'm sure its going to be even worse once i get off this diet as body is so deprived of calories right now its going to try to store everything that i eat. Not really looking forward to that!

That drives me crazy too!!! You would think that after a few times of having to remove your headphones and turn to listen - they would have the sense or courtesy to stop talking so much! I was on the ellipticals once and two ladies on the two machines to left were deep in conversation - and not quietly either - I got to hear all about their husbands late night outings, their kids being sick, all about their latest doctor visit (eewwwww!!!). Seriously wanted to change machines, but none were available. And the whole time they are talking they are just ambling along, never breaking a sweat, or obviously not getting winded (at least not from working out!) drives me insane!
Feel free to vent all this week if need be Cassie...we are here for ya!

I found a pumpkin protein cookie recipe I might try. I bought some canned pumpkin just in case! hehe
I can totally see that happening! When you're on this EXTREME diet for so long then start eating again its almost like the switch that tells you that you're full and tells you to STOP EATING gets turned off or something. Its like you're body has been deprived for so long that after you go off the diet your body is playing catch up trying to put on fat stores that it has lost. Lately, I feel like i can eat and eat and eat and while i feel full, I'm still craving food. Not chocolate or treats (well yes those too I guess) but mostly food. I'm wondering how i'm going to do after the next competition when i can start eating again. After the last one i gave myself one day to eat whatever i wanted, then i knew i had to get right back on track as i had another show in only 5 weeks. After this next show i won't have anything to look forward to (other than the holidays!) so won't feel like i have to stick to a clean diet. Its going to be interesting for sure! I'm planning on taking one day (Sunday) after the show to eat whatever I want. Then Monday after the show i'll go back to a clean diet and continue from there allowing myself one cheat meal per week. I don't plan on going crazy on things like cookies, candy, fast food or junk food after the show. I'm mostly excited to add in things like fruit, nuts/nut butter, dairy, and other healthy foods. I'm also excited to start playing with recipes again and start making some nice healthy fall meals treats. I love to cook and bake and haven't lately because its just no fun when you can't eat it. Needless to say...I'm really looking forward to the show... and REALLY REALLY looking forward to just getting it overwith!

Pumpkin protein cookies sound awesome! So does some nice pumpkin bread!!!

Know what you mean about crappy form. I was shadow boxing once, and some guy walks in the room, and starts hitting the bag with no gloves on, like a drunk Baboon.

I said, you might want to put some gloves on incase you hurt yourself.

He says, oh don't worry I've done this loads of times before.

I'm thinking yeah sure you have.

When he left he went on a Treadmill, so I gloved up, and went on the bag, purposely in his eyeline, and yes he clocked me a couple of times. I wanted him to do that as well, just so he could see how it should be done.

I mean I'm not perfect, but god that guy looked like he was having really bad spasms in his right Arm.

Not problem if he crocks himself. I told him, so if he'd ever done it again and bruised a Knuckle or something like that.

This kind of stuff drives me nuts! I was in the weight room one time watching a couple of idiots lift weights. They were *trying* to do something that looked like a lying lat pullover but were totally not doing it correctly and they had the heaviest weights they could handle. Idiot one says to idiot two (as hes holding his weight getting ready to do another set) "so uh, whats this exercise supposed to do?" and idiot two responds "uh I don't know. Saw some guy in here doing it the other day and thought it looked cool... like it was a killer exercise". *FACEPALM!* Seriously people amaze me sometimes!

So true. Some kids, too young to lift weights, trying ot lift weights. One of them looked about 12, and he tried to use a bar with weight on, but when he couldn't remove one of the clips he gave up.

Proof he should never have been trying in the first place

5 days!

Post by cassiegose »

5 days to go! The countdown is ON like donkeykong. I'm soooo excited to get up on stage and SOOOOO ready to be done with this diet. I'm munching on celery as I type this. I wish it was a big fat piece of chocolate cake instead of stupid ole celery! No matter how hard i try to pretend its chocolate it still tastes like crappy ole celery.

So today marks the first day of HELL week. Today, tomorrow, and Wednesday I will be attempting to drown organs as i gag down 2 gallons of water each day. In addition, today i begin glycogen depletion which means no carbs except for 1 bowl of oatmeal in the morning and veggies for the rest of the day. Has anybody ever heard the country song "Poor Poor Pitiful Me"? I think Patty Loveless or somebody sings it.. chorus goes like this: "poooooor poooooor pitiful me, poor poor pitiful me". Well that pretty much sums up how i'm feeling today. Feeling pretty sorry for myself.

In case anybody else out there is crazy enough to decide to do a figure competition I would like to offer one small piece of advice.. NEVER DO 2 BACK TO BACK COMPETITIONS! IT IS HELL! H-E-L-L. It may seem like a good idea at the time that you decide to do it, however I can tell you based on own experience that it is not a good idea. It really stinks. I've decided that after this competition I am going to take a break for a while, get body fat up to a healthy level, and just enjoy life for a few months. Next spring I may sign up for another competition, however if I do I will be dieting for 12-16 weeks and I will do 1 show and then take a break. At this time, I have been dieting since March 30th and I am soooo done.

Other than this stupid diet, I must say all in all I'm feeling pretty good. Had a great full-body workout this morning and have been getting lots of exercise since as i walk back and forth from the bathroom every 5 minutes. I'm planning on hitting the gym again on lunch break, then will work out twice tomorrow, twice wednesday, once on thursday, and off friday and saturday. Sunday I will be busy shoving m&ms, reesies, cheese cake, cookies, ice cream, and pasta in face all day so most likely won't have time to exercise that day either. :)

I hope everybody had a great Halloween and is having a wonderful Monday so far!

Never mind, hopefully when you're done you'll look as ripped as a Walnut, and just as hard, so keep eating the celery.

Maybe you could mix it with some of your Water in a blender and make smoothies?

Great idea! I could throw some chicken in there too just for fun... and maybe a little ice to make it really exciting!

3 days out...

Post by cassiegose »

So today I am officially 3 days away from competition. Mentally I'm feeling a little better... I think its the fact that the end is soooo near!

For the past two days (and today) I'm doing a very low carb diet to deplete glycogen stores. Tomorrow I get to add carbs back in, while cutting back on water. They say you know when you're getting depleted because your brain starts to get a little "foggy". I think I'm there. Last night I got off work, went into the kitchen, put some chicken on to cook (for meals today and tomorrow) then made myself a salad and hit the couch. After eating salad I brushed teeth and went to bed completely forgetting about chicken. Luckily fiance saw cooking chicken and was nice enough to turn off the stove and put chicken in the fridge for me. Had he not been home i could have very easily burned the house down. I kind of laughed off the whole chicken thing... but then this morning I was taking shower and I honestly could not remember whether I was supposed to apply shampoo or conditioner first. I stood there for a full minute trying to remember if shampoo comes before conditioner or vise versa. I'm losing mind. Luckily tomorrow i get to eat carbs again... quite a few of them actually. I'm very much looking forward to that. :)

workout this morning was pretty terrible. I was exhausted and had absolutely no energy. None. Zip. Zilch. Only two more workouts to go then i can take a (much needed) days off.

Welp I guess thats all i know today. I hope everybody is having a great week!

Thanks for your support guys. I leave tomorrow morning... its about a 5 hour drive I believe. I'll be staying with LaReina (from this site) so am heading to her house tomorrow then Saturday morning at 8 I have to go check in, then go to a meeting, then the show starts at 10am. I can't wait! Today I'm back on carbs again and already feel better! The worst is behind me... almost. :)
