I have been trying to find out the best time to drink the protein shake... I have search on websites, look in the magazines, etc and all of those have given different answers for the best time to drink the protein shakes...
So i thought why not ask on the forum to see what you think is the best time to take the protein shake.
Pre-workout or Post-workout period??
On wake up or before bed??
I currently drink before workouts and after workouts.
Hope the question is clear and i am happy with advices and tips to help me to intake the protein in best possible way.
Many thanks

I know what you mean, there is no full proof, undeniable answer to this question. I assume you're taking whey, so here's what seems to work the best for me, not only for gains, but also digestive toleration and balance ( shakes have about 30 grams of protein):
Shake (30 grams) 1 hour after breakfast
1/2 - 2/3 shake (20 grams) 30 mins. prior to workout
1 1/2 Shakes (50 grams) immediately post workout, 45 mins prior to dinner.
That's basically half of day's protein (I usually shoot for at least 200 grams per day).
On non-workout days, I drink 2 shakes - Once between breakfast and lunch and once between lunch and dinner. For the most part, I try to get the majority of protein from actual food whether it's a workout day or not. I definitely do not have any shakes before bed, unless they are of the casein variety. However, cottage cheese is an awesome source of casein, is fairly inexpensive, and can be taken before bed. It does taste like garbage though...
