Hi everyone, I am new to this forum and website. I am doing the slimin6 6 day a week routine at night and I am in a Get in shape boot camp during the AM hours. I want to lose 60 lbs but hoping to have lost at least 45 - 50 by Christmas... I am eating less carbs and drinking more water. I also walk at least a mile in between twice a day with dog... but she does frequent stops for potty breaks (l0l)
question is: Can I over work myself? And can goal be reached by doing that. I watched and read about how celebrities loose 50lb in 4 to 6 weeks and I want to do it too with proper excersize etc so that I will have healthy results and toner results... what is your intake on this? Please advise?
realistic goal setting?

christmas aint 6 freekin weeks out.I want to lose 60 lbs but hoping to have lost at least 45 - 50 by Christmas
you prolly could lose fiddy by end of december with great eating and a reasoned work out plan.
Re: realistic goal setting?
It is hard to maintain your needed nutrients and still lose more than 2 - 4 pounds per week.
For long term weight loss (more than 10 - 20 pounds) I would suggest that a 2 pound per week weight lost is most satisfactory. It will let you "live" while you diet; it allows for enough nutrients in your diet, and at the end of the year you will have lost 100 pounds (probably more than you need to lose).
The first week you are on a diet you will lose about twice what you might expect because of water weight loss, but after that I would try for 2 pounds per week.

Re: realistic goal setting?
Even 60 lbs in 30 weeks is ruff at a 2 lb loss per week. If you weight train that will be really difficult but you do need to strength train. I VERY VERY strongly recommend body measuring and setting your goals towards that rather than a scale. Most women who properly train (diet, cardio, and strength train) tend to gain muscle close to the same rate that they lose fat.. hence they look and feel better but that darn scale ain't mov'n to where they want it to. FRUSTRATION to the 10th degree!!!!!!!
Photo's in your bathing suit and tape measurements will better track your upcoming success more than the scale so it would stand to reason to set your goals that way to.
Honestly would you like a 40" waist at 175 lbs or a 30" waist at 175 lbs? which body would look better and be healthier?(this is just and example)
cheers
