Before/After Workout

Post by dizahs »

Hi, I was wondering what is the best to warm up for a workout...
- Do you guys stretch before or after workout? or both times? Which stretches should i be doing, I have no idea how to stretch, so please give some handy links if possible...

do 2 - 3 warm up sets for your first exercise/s...stretching will only make you weaker

1 stretch to do though is a hip flexor stretch

I warm up by doing the intended movement with light weights.

So if I'm going to do pull downs with 160 pounds, I might start with a set of 100 pounds, then 120 lbs., then 140 lbs. and then 160 lbs. This will warm up the muscles and prepare them technique-wise to execute well.

I agree with lesplease that as a rule you should not stretch when cold.

I'm blushing so hard right now.
Yeah, well I'm a real ladies man lately, babe.
