While I've been here & mind u has not been long...was a post the quote was " never hungry...never full "..yeah the author feel free to lay claim ;) anywho, that is how it works, plan ur meals & snacks preferably around the same time daily, it certainly prevents bing eating & keeps u fueled up & ready all day long, keeps ur metabolism more efficent to, if I'm not mistaken ?..Ive always wanted to ask this, when one orders a burger & fries, why do they order " diet " pop, seriously is cos it tastes better ? Of course if u r not so inclined to answer that, is ok also :) Good to see u have ur workout organized, keep at it :)

Hi Bonnie! It doesn't bother me to answer any questions. CONFESSION: I drink diet because regular sodas and juices make me sick. It also happens with eggs, citrics, whole milk, bananas, among other foods. It started after I had chemo. That's why I have d. pepsi/d. coke during breakfast (if I'm having egg whites) to prevent from getting sick (can't eat whole eggs yet :( ) Also, the reason why I drink mocha lattes w/ skim milk twice (well now, once) per week, is due to stomach aches. It's the only thing that relives the pain. HEY! they are really good too! I honestly didn't want to talk about it, because I want this new journey to be about a healthier me and mostly about physical challenges (arms, legs, etc.) including ! Mentally, I feel stronger after the hell I've been through. Physically, I want to be stronger & feel confident (look better, feel pretty) to continue fighting! That's why I DON'T GIVE UP, even when the road gets tough :D !

Oh ok awesome, lol as far as the mocha's go, I drink 3 a day ( have starbucks expresso machine ) & they r with 2 % but still falls into fat category, without goin over & is a source of protein also, I used to use whole milk, eight weeks ago, so at least that has changed, keep up the good work ! :)

Why is Monday so boring? I had a lot to do, but it felt like it was just dragging. I started the day w/ Monday exercise routine. meals were a little off. I finally started with oatmeal (cinnamon & apples flavor) & didn't like the cinnamon flavor nor the little chunks of apple. Since I also bought the regular kind, I will it tomorrow. Still, I ate it. 15 min.s later, had a cup of water. For lunch, a tuna sandwich on whole wheat & 1/2 d. coke. Snack: 1 cup of watermelon & 1 cup of water. For Dinner: 1 cup of brown rice, scrambled whites W/ 1/2 Dak ham & 1/2 cup d. pepsi. I also had 1 cup of water & quenepas (fruit). Since I had a stomach ache, I had a mocha latte w/ skim milk. Besides Monday workout, I walked 10,345 steps extra :D . Felt tired, bored and sad...Maybe is because hubby & I had a little disagreement :( . I know I'm wrong, but I'm hard headed. I hate admitting to him that his right. I know...I 'll say I'm sorry...but later  (I like making up  )Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day, will feel pumped and get back on track with a better attitude. I also think I feel this way beacuse I look at myself in the mirror and don't see any changes in . ( Yes, I'm aware I just started, but don't you wish there was a magic food/pill/ wand to make your flatter in a minute? I do!!! But it doesn't exist and I know I have to work very hard at it if I want it, and believe me....I DO :D !

Compliment!!?? Unbelievable... hubby said to me last night (while trying a new pair of sweat pants) Did you loose weight? :D Why!!?? (I thought...Yes!) and then he added: your legs are looking thinner  :( What? I've been doing squats like crazy because I want to firm up butt and legs. Am I doing something wrong? Anyways, he also said I don't need to loose any weight...maybe he just wants something  Anyway, today was a good day.
Breakfast: specialty scrambled eggs, w/ d. pepsi 1 cup of water
Snack: quenepas (12) fruit & 1 cup of water
Lunch: Ham & cheese sandwich on whole wheat, lt. mayo, w/ d. pepsi, 1 cup of water
Dinner: cup of brown rice, w/ small grilled pork chop, 1 bowl of salad (tomatoes, avocado, spinach, lettuce, grilled onion, mushrooms & red peppers-don't eat raw) & 3 small pieces of sweet plantain & 2 cups of water.
Trying: sunflower seeds (we all like it & its entertaining opening the shells with your teeth)
I'm excited because I'm getting a blender tomorrow to start making shakes & juices. I read somewhere that you can add protein powder or oatmeal...Question? uncooked oatmeal? crushed? & which protein powder is better for me? goal is not a six pack, just a flat & toned body :D .
Did Tuesday exercises, but walked 15,000 steps extra! Had to run lots of errands today. Am I over doing it? It's confusing because I want to see results fast, but at the same time I read that if you over exercise you don't give enough time for muscle recovery... I'm very confused! If I work abs hard is beacuse I want to meet goal by December. What do you guys think???

The main thing is not really what he thinks so much as what you think.

If you feel better and you think you are making progress, then that is the most important thing. He doesn't live in you body, you do, so it's important you feel good in it, and you're not trying to end up really thin and unhealthy, so you're doing the right things.

From the sound of it, just keep doing what you're doing, and don't worry about anything. You CAN be proud of yourself, and you clearly ARE making a difference.

WELL DONE :).

Hi everyone! Thanks for posting your wonderful comments. You guys ROCK :D ! They keep me motivated and give me the extra push I need...because, truth be said, by the time I finish cooking, fixing the kitchen, checking homework, etc. I'm too tired to exercise. But your positive vibes and looking over dream board (where I have a "a goal list", pictures of dream FLAT  ), exercise & meal plans, gets me pumped in a flash! This morning was exhausting! I couldn't sleep last night. I had a weird dream about hubby buying a teddy bear for our son, stretching the arms & legs of the teddy in the middle of a supermarket and making it walk. It was sooo FUNNY, but weird! Anyways, by the time I felt back to sleep, it was time to get everyone ready. OMG! brain was about to shut off! I kept thinking...what do I do? Where do I start? Since I couldn't function, I took a 20 min nap. It did wonders! I felt like the energizer bunny. Kept going, going and going. First thing was: Jillian's video. Honestly, I couldn't finish it. I was sweating, huffing, puffing...Somebody call 911  ! But felt the burn. Showered and ate delicious Farina! w/ 1 cup of water & 1/2 banana (nervous, cause it makes me sick) but it didn't!
Lunch: Tuna fish sandwich w/ whole wheat & 1/2 d. coke. & 1 cup of water.
Snack: few grapes (10), 3 slices of kiwi & 1 tspn. peanut butter & 1 cup of water
Dinner: 1/2 cup of yellow rice (brown rice finished) but no salt!, grilled chicken breast w/ grilled onions & 1 cup of water
Snack: 1/2 cup of mango smoothie (YUMMY!) w/ fat free milk (hubby bought)
GUESS WHAT: Bought blender!!! So Ready to start the shakes & smoothie!
After dinner, did workout as planned & ready to shower again & go to sleep!
QUESTIONS:
about the oatmeal.. Should I added uncooked? cooked? crushed? How does that work?
about protein powder: What kind? Whey? I don't want a six pack...just to tone & flatten abs.
PLEASE HELP ME CHOOSE!!!! :D

Thank you Lesplease! I bought an Oster (it was on sale @ Walmart for 20 bucks!) I'm new at making smoothies, but hubby is as excited as I am. Thanks for the frozen fruit tip. WILL DO!! Can wait for tomorrow... As for the protein shake, Do I drink it before or after workout? Cardio workout or weight? and Is it better to do it in the morning or evening? Will appreciate your advice very much! :D

Congrats on the Blender purchase! I love mine and make smoothies everyday for husband and myself. Frozen fruits work really well. I like to add a banana also, it helps to make it smoother. I put one scoop of protein powder. I use crushed ice with 6 oz. light cranberry or orange juice and 6 oz. of light yogurt (various flavors). I add slivered or sliced almonds too! This makes enough for 2 smoothies. There are a million smoothie recipes out there and I know I've read some of the ones here on Shapefit in the recipe sections. So just experiment and have fun! Good luck! :D

OH NO! No workout for me today :( . I walked...but that was about it. After Dr's appt., I felt weak, tired and dizzy.
Breakfast was: Tuna sandwich w/ whole wheat, 1 cup coffee w/ skim milk & splenda (more milk than coffee), 1/2 banana & 1 cup water
Lunch: nothing (no vending machines nor stores near the Dr's office  )
Dinner: 1 cup rice w/ 1/2 steak (palm size) & white beans & 1 bottle of water
Snack: Tuna sandwich & 1/2 d. pepsi w/ 1 banana & cup of water & ;ater a cup of watermelon
I know I ate more than usual, but I was very hungry. Plus getting 3 shots & 6 tubes of blood drawn isn't easy... Anyways, I'm exhausted so I will post more stuff tomorrow....cause I know it's going to be a BETTER DAY :D !
By the way...Starting the smoothies tomorrow, since didn't have time to buy frozen fruits.

Next time you go to your doc’s appt. pack some snacks with you?
Because you skipped lunch you’re very hungry and people tend to over eat. That’s just a though!

Hope you feel better :D

Exactly. You did quite a bit of walking, which would contribute to lowered Blood Sugar, coupled with lack of Carbs from no Lunch, so no wonder you felt tired and dizzy.

You'll have ot take something with you next time to eat before or afterwards. Even something like a Packet of Peanuts would help, ideal for Protein, Carbs, Fats, Fat Soluable Vitamins and a few other things.

Being in a Packet and being Peanuts, even if you were quite hot, the Peanut swouldn't melt, or go manky in you Pocket, well they shouldn't anyway .

Unles you ate Chocolate covered ones

Thank you Nokie173 & Bossman for the advice. I learned lesson...So It won't happen again :D .
This morning I decided to change Friday workout (since I only have a few more days to go for WEIGH IN DAY) to make it more intense. I read of HIIT in Shape Fit, clicked on it and liked it. Decided to try it...so I did! It was great. I love jump rope & jumping jacks. I can do 200 jumps without stoping, but never in intervals. 30 seconds w/ both feet, 30 seconds alternating feet and 1 min w/ both (I did 20 minutes). GREAT!
Then I had breakfast: egg whites omellete on whole wheat w/ 1 ham & 1/2 slice of cheese, 1 cup d. pepsi, 1/2 banana & 1 cup of water
Lunch: Penne pasta w/ pieces of chicken & broccoli, 1/2 banana & 10 grapes, 1 bottle of water
snack: 1 cup of watermelon
Dinner: 1 cup of brown rice w/ grilled chicken breast & stir red peppers, tomatoes, onions & zucchini & 1 bottle of water
snack: cup of frosted flakes  w/ skim milk, 1/2 banana & 1 bottle of water
After dinner I walked 13,267 steps, 3 reps of 12 (bicep curls (2lb weight), triceps (2lb), squats, lunges (OUCH!-week kness  ) & dips. I also did the "6 minutes abs using a couch" video. WOW! Can somebody call the Fire Dept.? Felt the burn! Loooved it!
QUESTION: Should I do weights in the morning or at night? Starting with 5 lbs weights on Monday...How many serving of fruits should I have per day? Should I do cardio before weights or after? weight tracker tells me that at 135 I should eat around 1,300 & 1,800 to mantain. But wouldn't I gain weight? I usually eat between 1,200 - 1,300. What time is the latest I should eat. I don't go to sleep until 12 midnight. I know...bad idea :( . But like to clean everything before I go to bed :D !
Bought the frozen fruits...GOD HAVE MERCY! very expensive at supermarket. I guess this will be the right time to start growing own fruits & veggies...in bedroom? Have no space. One more thing in appt. and i'll be sleeping in the fire escape  Anyways, until tomorrow...TGIF!

Lesplease.... You do your weights at 9pm at night? Good God girl! I'm in bed by then! I do mine at 5:30am. Nothing like waking at the buttcrack of dawn to push some iron around! If I don't workout first thing in the morning I just don't feel right.

Newmami... what if you tried something like this:
Meal one: fruit (perhaps the 1/2 banana here instead of at breakfast?), 1/2 protein shake
weights!... followed by 1/2 protein shake
Meal 2: egg whites omellete on whole wheat w/ 1 ham & 1/2 slice of cheese, 1 cup d. pepsi
Meal 3: Penne pasta w/ pieces of chicken & broccoli, 1/2 banana & 10 grapes, 1 bottle of water
(couple tips... make sure the pasta is whole grain... and you really don't need both pasta and fruit with this meal.. makes for quite a lot of carbs... I think I would take out the fruit and add in something like a side salad with a dressing that has olive oil to increase healthy fats)
Meal 4: snack: 1 cup of watermelon
(I would trade this for veggies and protein... if you must keep watermelon here atleast add some protein and maybe a few nuts)
Meal 5: 1 cup of brown rice w/ grilled chicken breast & stir red peppers, tomatoes, onions & zucchini & 1 bottle of water (this looks GREAT! Good job!)
Meal 6: cup of frosted flakes w/ skim milk, 1/2 banana & 1 bottle of water
(I'm really not a fan of frosted flakes, however you did have them around your weight workout and research does show that simple carbs are good after weights... however you do need some protein with this meal, especially if eaten after weights. If you must have frosted flakes I would move them to the morning meal after weights)
Calories...Its hard to say how many calories you can get by with eating without gaining weight. advice... slowly increase calories and see how many you can get by with eating! I love food... LOVE LOVE LOVE IT! So I like to eat as much as I can possibly get by with without gaining weight. If you're only eating 1200-1300 I would venture to guess that you could definitely get by with increasing those as that really doesn't seem like enough.

Hope this helps!

Cassie :)
