Need some advice! :)

Post by RedWolf77 »

Hello all!

So I do Muay Thai 3 times a week, stairclimbing, jogging.. I'm around 120lbs and overall toned..but ab area needs some help. I'm not achieving some definition..but most in the top part of the abs. I had a (3rd) baby last October so it's taken me a while to get back to a decent size. Any tips on getting midsection into rockin' shape? I've always had a boyish shape so I'm not looking for a miracle waist. I just want solid abs and to get rid of the fat.

Any suggestions are highly appreciated! :)

1) Diet- Make sure you're eating adequate amounts of lean protein as well as healthy fats and complex carbs. Stay away from foods high in sugar, high in fat, and those that are highly processed. Make sure you're eating every 2-3 hours and consuming balance of protein, carbs, and healthy fats in every meal (or just make sure to get healthy fats in atleast 3 meals if you have larger servings).

2) Exercise-This needs to be a combination of weights and cardio. Sounds like you've got the cardio down... just keep in mind that weights are important too (in opinion just as, possible more, important than cardio as you can get some cardio with a fast paced intense weight workout). A solid weight routine will help you to build muscle so you naturally burn more calories (helping you to burn more fat) and will also build your abs and other muscles so when you lose the fat on top you'll have nice round muscles to display.

Hope this helps. :)

Thanks! diet is pretty nutrionally sound, and I eat every 2 hours or so. But you're definitely right, I need to put in some weight training. I'm basically doing none. I'm going to get that into workout schedule! Thx again! :)
