Steam has a lot of presipitation or evaporation, which ever is the right term, since hot air comes from steam. While sauna is a sort of heat radiation whether it's a lava rock or radiator type. In short, on steam theres a possibility that you inhale fluids and your skin will be soaked on steamed water. While on sauna it is a sort of dry heat.

Thanks anyway. Just only concern if there's any effect on muscle recovery or so.

probably a negative effect if anything as you should rehydrate after training not the dehydrate

try and protein shake, carbs and a basic shower, tried and true

I don't know about muscle recovery but I go to both the steam and sauna.
Not the same day tho, i take turn.
I usually go in there for 10-15 mins and stretch after a workout.
When I stretch in there it seems like blood flows better.
I feel less sore from a previous workout...
I usually drink lots of water before, during, and after… so I will be hydrated.
Beside… After i'm out of there i feel like skin is more smooth! :D

Both are potentially dangerous and should be done in moderation.

A steam bath before shaving is a wonderful way to prep the beard. I recommend it.

A sauna allows you to regulate your core body temperature by sweating. But too long in the sauna and you will dehydrate. Not a good thing.

A steam bath (also the hot whirlpool) can quickly elevate your core temperature and you should step out of the room (or pool) as soon as you feel uncomfortable. Don't be a tough guy. The heat will kill your performance--even a day or two later. It can take as long as 2 or 3 days to rehydrate from excessive water loss.

Thanks! I usually stay for 5 mins. and 5 mins. on cooler area before hitting the shower. With all this responses maybe I shall do sauna once a week with the same time frame. Thank you guys.

After awork out,i believe steam bath would be of quality benefit than Sauna given that Sauna is direct heat capable of dehydrating the body fluid which is highly required by the body at the moment after a work out.
Steam bath is superb due to its eucaliptus content that clear cardio system of impurities leaving the body more relaxed.

A steam bath is good if you ever decide to shave your legs again.
