I recently have been eating a protein bar after work-out and it's filled me right up and kept me energized.
Now I'm trying to lose fat, are protein bars healthy snacks to have when I'm feeling like I want a little something, or do they provide too many calories and carbs for that?
Protein Bars.

Depends on the type. I know someone here that will tell you they are the food of the devil, or something similar in his own words
.
In estimation, there are far worse things ot eat, so if you eat one with about 25g Protein and 25g Carbs once a day, you're not seriously going to hinder weight loss, or increase risk of things like Cholesterol problems etc etc.
They are not the cleanest things to eat, but they are probably better for you than say a Large Burger, a Pastry, Deep Fried Food, Meat filled Pies etc etc

Protein bars are highly processed and full of stuff that the body really doesn't want. not the worst thing int he world, but not the best choice either.
I eat an all natural protein bar (whey protein, dried fruit and nuts). It's called Elev8me. If you google Elev8me you can find info. They aren't the cheapest, but it's worth it for soemthing quick, easy AND good for you.

you're right boss man i will say they're terrible...a protein shake would work better...bars are full of fat and / or carbs, articificials, preservatives etc...the fat also slows digestion which is NOT what you want post workout as the muscles need replenishment NOW not later so liquid protein is the go...proper food sources will decrease fat quicker than any bar or snack
