I'm putting together a workout/nutrition plan to loose fat and gain body muscle (tone up). I'm 5'11 and 185lbs. I have no desired weight to get to, for the simple fact that I'm new to this. From reading the forum, I've put together a pretty good plan. However, I do have some unanswered questions. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

1. Knowing weight/size, how many calories should I be taking in each
day to lose weight? (is there a specific ratio)

2. How many fat grams should I be taking in each day? (is there a
specific ratio)

3. How many grams of protien should I be taking in each day? (is there a
specific ratio)

I'm also going to open up Pandora's box and ask this question. Is there a new pill on the market that helps in fat loss that actually works? I'm currently taking:

1. GNC Mega Man Multi Vitamin
2. Green Tea Pill
3. Chromium picolinate
4. CLA Pill

4. I heard that GNC MegaMan Multi-V is not that effective. Is this true? If so what is the best(most effective) multi-v on the market?

Again thanks for any future advice....

Cheers,

Jason

1 - not really, just making better choices will do the trick but if you want a number try bw in pds x 15 broken up evenly into carbs, protein and fat then broken up again over 5 - 6 meals and you're set...if not losing then increase activity a little...if still not losing then decrease to 14 x bw in pds etc increasing activity then decreasing cal's as you go

2 - see above

3 - stick with the multi...the others won't do anything untill you're diet and training are absolute perfect and you're at a total dead end so i;d save the cash and spend it on fruits, veg, salads, protein and fish oil

4 - i'm in australia and i get microgeneitcs so if you can get that where you are, it's a good choice

Dude, you asked this about 4 days ago on the weight loss forum. I remember because I replied.

I also apologised for assuming you were female, and amended answer thusly.

All you're doing by posting the same thing in different sections, is going to either cause conflicting responses, from more than one person, or similar responses, meaning one or more people are wasting their time responding.

In future please don't confuse the issue, and oinly post a question once.

Don't get me wrong, I appreciate your help/response as well as everyone else that responds. I find no harm in seeking additional help or second opinion's. The whole purpose of this forum is to share information. If more than yourself had responded to post I probably would not have posted in a different forum. Because of this I thought maybe I had asked in the wrong forum. I only hope at some point I can help those seeking information and direction.

Forgive me if I sounded snappy, that was not the intention. Of course any help you may want to give to anyone, will be warmly received, and of course I certainly don't discourage posting of a genuine nature, which you do.

The main reasons why you might have gotten less responses could be thus.

1. Your message was not noticed by some, which can happen, so posting it elsewhere would not have made much difference.

2. No one else felt the need to reply.

3. Some people hadn't the time to respond to a lot of stuff, and chose what they saw as more significant stuff.

So don't worry about that, that occasionally happens on boards :).

If it happens again, and you don't seem to get a reply say after 48 hours, just reply to your message with the word "bump", that should remind people you wanted some help.

Sometimes time restrictions, quantity of messages, and peoples understanding, can all be factors in someones query accasionally slipping by the board, so it's not enything against you, and of course input like yours is appeciated yeah :).

if someone answers a post before i get to and I have nothing to add then i don't respond so you could assume that what is posted is something you could try and follow
